Its been 3 months now and here in the UK I have heard nothing about upgrades becoming available. Has anyone in the UK had their upgrade? My games, notably Fallout 4 had started to misbehave of late, win 10's fault?

You can always go to Microsoft's website and download the ISO for Windows 11 and install that. Brink did a tutorial for it awhile ago.

Yes, my System One is a relatively new machine and got its upgrade through Windows Update. Waiting for it was the longest two weeks of my life....

The rollout is phased, and depending on how old your machine is and/or any issues with the specific drivers/software installed you may have to wait a bit longer. MS expect the rollout to complete by the middle of the year.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to lid hinges starting to break up this laptop has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    I've now clean installed 25H2 and used Garlin's scripts to update Secure Boot to CA 2023 and revoke the PCA 2011 certificates. It's new role is to test secure boot issues.

    Info for 2021-2026:
    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    My SYSTEM SIX is a Dell Latitude 5550, Core Ultra 7 165H, 64GB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD, supported device, Windows 11 Pro, Hyper-V host machine. Updated to 25H2 on 30th September 2025.

    My SYSTEM SEVEN is a Lenovo Thinkpad T580, 1920x1080 touchscreen, Intel Core i7-8650U, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD + 2nd 512GB NVMe SSD, a supported device for Windows 11. This is my current general purpose 'main machine'. The installed Windows 11 Home from my System One has been migrated to this machine. As its new home has an existing digital licence for Pro I've been able to upgrade the migrated OS from Home to Pro.

I went into MS store but the only thing I found was Maths for Year 11. It didnt add up, so I left.

If it's a compatible machine, then (when the phased rollout gets round to your turn) it should be offered in Windows Update, like this. If you check for updates it may encourage it to appear.

Almost all initial incompatibilities of Windows 11 with video games, which are currently supported, are now solved. As for some old games, the problems still may happen and should be solved manually. For example, Windows 11 doesn't have built-in support of DirectX 9, which is counted outdated, but these components can be installed, even though MS released them far before Windows 11.

I am not sure if that applies to your games, but I had a couple of old apps that could not run properly in full screen in Windows 11. The workaround is to right-click the game shortcut and select Properties->Compatibility and check the "Disable fullscreen optimizations". I would also check the "Run as Administrator" box, just in case. To make sure these settings always apply, click the "All users" button and do these for all users.

If you have no t had it yet, it generally means MS are still finding things on your pc that are not ready. you could try updating all drivers but best of all as @Archigos said download the ISO

Simple test: Download the Windows 11 ISO, run Setup. If it proceeds, you are compatible. If you see an error message, you are not but can bypass check and proceed anyway. In general, if your current installation is UEFI, (not Legacy BIOS), you have TMP 2.0 and enabled in BIOS, you have Secure Boot enabled, and your CPU is less than 3 years old, you should be compatible. Anything else is not.

You should see something about Windows 11 in Windows Update. Before Windows Update can offer the upgrade the PC has to check itself for compatibility. If that has not yet happened you should see a notice in Windows Update like this:

When the test has taken place this will be replaced, either with a notice saying that the PC isn't compatible, or if it is with a notice like this:

This PC can run Windows 11.png

That phrase 'as we get it ready for you' can mean one of two things. There may be a blocking issue related to specific software/hardware on your PC, in which case you have to wait for MS to resolve those issues before it will be offered. But in most cases it just means that it's not your turn yet in the phased rollout.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to lid hinges starting to break up this laptop has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    I've now clean installed 25H2 and used Garlin's scripts to update Secure Boot to CA 2023 and revoke the PCA 2011 certificates. It's new role is to test secure boot issues.

    Info for 2021-2026:
    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

If not, then it's just that the phased rollout hasn't got round to you yet. If you are impatient and there are no known compatibility holds, then you could upgrade now with the Installation Assistant or an ISO. As Addram recommends, it would be a sensible precaution to make a system image first. Otherwise, just wait for it to be offered.

I remember when I wasn't able to upgrade to Windows 10 v20H1 because my nVidia drivers where outdated. A check in the file version revealed that not all driver components were at the latest version. The fix was to completely remove the graphics drivers using DDU ( Display Driver Uninstaller). Then install latest nVidia drivers. After that all components were at the latest version. I was then offered the upgrade. Maybe you have a similar situation. Make sure you update all your drivers and install all Windows updates and you should be offered to upgrade to Windows 11.

Today, I got a Ryzen 5 3600 through the post for my latest build, to replace the Ryzen 5 2600 which I had originally put in it. The pc has been running W10 pro 64 for about 3 weeks and as soon as I had installed the 3600, I reset the pin with my Microsoft account as when a processor is changed and TPM is active you loose the pin. A few minutes later, I was offered the W11 by Microsoft and it installed painlessly and everything I had added is still there. It is just finishing some of the latest updates, KB500853 is downloading now.
If you don't want to take pot luck and wait for Microsoft, then just download an ISO of W11 and use that straight away.

With a rig like that and a 3090ti that isnt even out yet, Im surprised people have these rigs and don't know anything.
