Windows 11 suddenly deactivated

That's the best approach you did there. If one can buy a thousand dollar worth of hardware, why not at least a $10 key or less that actually works?
Going through all the madness of fighting for a license key that you already know is questionable from the very beginning is not worth all the time and effort. Let it go and get another one (like you did). There are plenty of cheap keys out there. If they stopped working, get another one.

Except when I got a new motherboard 5 days later - MS once again won't let me reactivate!
Jump through all the stupid Support loops and get nowhere.

That's normal. You can't re-activate multiple times in a short span of time. You need to speak to MS agents to verify that you have a new motherboard (or wait for a month, or so to try again).. It's only a motherboard issue, but you can change CPU and other hardware without re-activation problem.

Change of a motherboard and maybe another part or two [but not the system drive] does make a new computer out of it. Used to be a license could be moved to a new computer but not both at the same time.

I was able to reactivate by phone. That's a lot of song and dance for a new mainboard. And now MS has my cell number. Great.

I wish they had mine. Then maybe they'd recognize my number and I could get through to someone when I need to. The days are long gone when one could get help from a human at MS or most any of the OEM support groups.

Gotta say, I never run into that problem when I need help from the Big Apple. (Am I allowed to say that word here) Best support group, bar none, I've ever dealt with. The big thing is their devices are so good I rarely need to call them, but when I do, a human answers immediately or calls back at a specified time, they really know their stuff and stay with me til my problem is solved. Then they give a followup return courtesy call to make sure I'm satisfied. That's almost unheard of in today's world. Oh, and they're right here in the US.

Hmmm, will someone tell me why I mess with Windows devices again? Oh yeah, now I remember. I wouldn't have a reason to interact with all you here....and I'm a creature of habit in a long-term love/hate relationship with MS.

I doubt that hands off approach will stop them from selling me to the dataverse. They won't call but someone else will.

My daughter is all-in on Apple, and I agree - she gets spectacular service on the rare occasion she needs it. Of course, she paid for it upfront.

Is Stack Social legit? $25 for 11 and $29 for Office just seems wrong. Has anyone tried them? Are they just another URCDKEYS type site?
