Windows 11 update keeps reverting to older Intel graphics driver

The title says pretty much everything: whenever I update to the latest Intel Graphics Driver, and I do so by first uninstalling currently installed driver , restarting and keep doing this until it shows the generic Microsoft driver and then installing latest Intel driver, afterwards whenever I manually check for updates, Windows Update always installs older version of Intel Graphics driver. Any fix? Thanks

I would suggest you block the driver using Windows Update Minitool.

What you want to do, Uninstall/reinstall the latest drivers the way you've been doing it if you're comfortable with that, then once the latest drivers are installed, check for updates and run the file above to tell it to hide that specific driver. (Pending on how you do it, it may get a chance to reinstall the old/crap one, so just revert that again after it's hidden)

Now that you have the newer and older driver (installed by WU) go to device manager, your display adapter and select properties. On the driver tab select 'Roll Back Driver'.
It will install the newest driver again an WU should leave you alone afterwards.

I also have a Dell laptop (Inspiron 13 7373 with 8th gen i7 Intel processor) - a bit long in the tooth now. I recently manually installed the latest Intel graphics driver, and then had a lot of hassle which caused a BSOD when returning from sleep (i.e. after every time I closed the lid). It took a while to trouble shoot, but eventually I restored the latest recommended driver (as shown on the Dell page for my laptop) and return from sleep works fine. As an enthusiastic updater, who thinks the latest drivers are generally the best, especially for security reasons, I was a little disappointed that it turns out that I am better off on this laptop with an older driver.
I just offer this as a cautionary note for anyone in a situation similar to ours. As always, YMMV.

Dell says this system is not Windows 11 capable, but Microsoft seems happy with it.
Now that you have the newer and older driver (installed by WU) go to device manager, your display adapter and select properties. On the driver tab select 'Roll Back Driver'.
It will install the newest driver again an WU should leave you alone afterwards.

Yes, that's what I've been trying to do from the start since it seems to fix the issue, problem is that the "Roll Back Driver" option is unavailable, the button is greyed out
