?Windows 12.1?

Let's hope this forum does not get inundated with such dross.
Yes mate I didn't see the very end of the video I must admit, and I hope it doesn't eventuate for some time yet because then keeping up with Microsoft (if they do make it) is very frustrating as I said we have only just begun to accept Windows 11.

Yeah - on the Reddit Windows forums which I used to visit (gave up as too "toxic"), there was a whole subforum devoted to concept designs.

It was (imo) full of wannabes trying to get noticed by MS in hopes of a career.
They are not trying to get noticed by MS (in hopes of a career)! They are trying to make new trends in UI design! Microsoft is just copying Mac UI slowly and gradually! I have seen many Windows UI elements have a resemblance with Dribbble designers' designs!!! Maybe the UI designers are copying Microsoft or vice versa!

keeping up with Microsoft (if they do make it) is very frustrating as I said we have only just begun to accept Windows 11.
IMO Microsoft Windows is the rule of 50-50! 50% rubbish and 50% perfect! The big problem is users are wasting their time to make the 50% of rubbish things better (by patching dll, tweaking registry keys and ...). It takes more than one or two years to get used to it, and then Microsoft releases a new version of Windows! And everything starts again!

I agree it is the nonsense that is created by new versions.

A new version of Windows will eventually happen. It's just a matter of time. MS has stated a basic time frame for new major releases. Support for Windows 11 isn't even close to be at an end. The name Windows 12 is at best, just a guess. At one time we thought that MS would go from Windows 8.1 to Windows 9. MS surprised us and went to Windows 10. Whatever the next major release is named I'm sure it will be a step up from Windows 11. I also see it as being a much more secure OS. If we will need all new hardware to run the new OS, I hope that MS extends the support for Windows 11 long enough to give us a reasonable length of time to upgrade our devices.

I think I asked this question before on other forums and didn't get an answer. When did MS ever have an original idea?

Yes mate I hope so too because if the hardware restrictions get any worse than they already are then it will be a disaster and unaffordable for many people - again!!

If you don't believe (!) you can browse the Dribbble. Check those concept designs, you will notice there is a resemblance with the current Windows UI elements (specifically, the icons) with them! Just pay attention to their creation date (their date is before Windows 11 release date or even its introduction!).

if the hardware restrictions get any worse than they already are then it will be a disaster and unaffordable for many people - again!!
I think Win 10 and 11 work as the guinea pig for Microsoft. They are crafting Win 12 to make a complete touch-friendly OS without any touch restriction to bring it to smaller devices like smartphones (to punch the Android). They are in trial-error mode till Win 12. I hope Win 12 doesn't require a quantum processor! I can't afford it. About three months ago, we bought a 10th gen laptop (for my little sister), and two weeks ago, Intel named them (10th gen CPUs) the legacy!!!

Well, as Intel first released the 11th Generation Processors in Q1 2021, and the 12th Generation in Q4 2021, it's hardly surprising that 10th Generation processors are now starting to be referred to as 'legacy'. Intel has to appear to be, at the very least, keeping up with the competition, who are also playing the same version numbers game. There's always a significant sector of any market which must have (but not necessarily need) the latest shiny new version of whatever.

Well for my money the CPU war is really irrelevant because any CPU now required surely is capable of performing as Microsoft wants in the future unless there is something beyond my comprehension regarding this wretched situation.
