Windows Explorer-Folder Empty But Is Not
I finally attempted a clean install on my HP Spectre 360 (see system specs) and it finished successfully. I'm running 24H2 build 26100.2161.
The only issue I have is that when I try to access my NAS, a Western Digital MYBOOK, 1 TB drive I get "This folder is empty." It seems to only happen on the network drive and not on the local drive.
But if I can click on the Expand symbol the folders will appear. So now instead of quickly accessing files I use often I have to perform very annoying feats of manipulation to get folders to reveal their contents.
I did a DISM Restore Health and a Checkdisk successfully but the issue remains. I also merged the Add_Take_Ownership_to_context_menu reg file but that hasn't helped.
Anyone have this experience, or know of a solution? This didn't start unto after the Clean Install.

Yes, I've known about the reports but I've bee running 24H2 since it was released with no issues. I think I'll uninstall the latest update that got me to build 26100.2161 and see if that helps, or go back to a recent Reflect image I made.

I have 2 x WD My Book 4TB USB drives but they are not NAS drives. I do have a NAS drive but it's a Buffalo LinkStation attached to my Wireless Router via Ethernet cable. I have had WD My Cloud 1TB NAS drives but when there was a security issue several years ago I had to upgrade.

Question: Can I do a repair install upgrade of Win 11 build 2033 from my current build 2161? This wouldn't be considered a "downgrade", would it?

I can live with the inconvenience, but I just checked my Win 10 computer and the Device Manager shows an entry for Western Digital NAS and the dll listed is wdmbl_ap1nc-x64.dll but I can't copy it from where it resides, in the System32 folder, it refuses to be copied. And a Google search doesn't come up with finding the file on the Internet. The Western Digital web site doesn't show it either. Is there a way to copy the wdmbl_ap1nc-x64.dll file from my Win 10 installation? Windows 11 only uses a Microsoft generic dll, which is probably why File Explorer doesn't show mapped network drive correctly.

Well, I was able to open a Macrium Reflect backup for the Win10 computer and was able to copy the Western Digital dll from it to the HP Spectre's System32 folder but I can't get the driver to update in Device Manager - it tells me the best driver is already installed, which is not true. Another dead end! Rats!
I don't suppose renaming the Western Digital dll with the name of the current Microsoft generic dll would be a solution, eh? I already put the WD dll in the System32 folder.
