Windows Security (Defender) died

Dunno what happen but after trying all the options to turn back on with no luck.
Tried changing values in the registry (failed)
Tried repair install..failed
Used a backup from June and all is fine now
I did disable secure boot in bios so I could install Linux., don't know if that had anything to do with it or not.
I enabled secure boot and restored the backup
Defender still working so far...
Like I said all options within Windows were greyed out to enable again..
Ran online scanners and such nothing showed up

Also, you’re messing with BIOS/Registry Settings/Linux who knows what you’ve done?

What is “Windows 11”? You’ve been here long enough to know we need to know which Windows you’re running

Try re-enable via powershell

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SecHealthUI*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

  • Does it mention anywhere on you PC that anything is being “run by your organisation”?
  • Are you installing anything that is also installing a free trial of some kind of antivirus like McCafee or something?

I think it was disabling Secure Boot so I could install Pop! OS that may have started the issues.
I installed other Linux flavors without having to disable Secure Boot ..who knows for sure but working now
thanks to Macrium. Because nothing else I found would work
