The Chevy. I'm really hoping my girl gets her driver's license soon so I can just flip it over to her for a buck. Plus factor is that the vehicle has tons of collision safety (minus the stupidity of the battery placement) and it handles like a dream on curves even uphill and down on wet surfaces. That was one of the first things I noticed about it.

My Ford Explorer is 4WD but when in 2WD preforms like the AWD version. I didn't know that until the first time I drove it on a icy road that was starting to thaw and had patches of dry spot. The 4WD would kick in and out. I'm not sure about my Ram pickup. In the four years that I have owned it I have never driven it on snowy or icy roads.

I'm sorry but I feel that's up to the OP to decide and not you. With that said, the OP posted only once so it's possible that their problem was solved and they don't mind their thread wondering off track.

That's pretty much how I view it too. IF the OP cares not to acknowledge the issue as solved and simply leaves the thread open and hanging, that is. Nobody is forcing anyone to read this thread. No harm is being done. What would be nice is if the mod could give all those who responded accordingly to the OP credit for solving the issue and locking the thread. This is small consolation IMO.

It's not as though this is uncommon: A pointless thread followed by random chatter. It could have entertainment value. It can be moved. I already moderate a different forum or I'd volunteer.

I don't know about other utilities, but the one I suggested can limit the transfer rate if the USB device cannot cope.

Retraction:

I went back to do some more transfers after having been successful for several hundred and the damn thing stopped again! So, everything below does not hold for long and I have 4K files to move FHK.

I'm transferring lots of big image files to subfolders on a second HD and have had the stall/stop transfer problem, too. I found a workaround: I open two versions of Windows 11's file manager, one with the source folder (A) and one with the recipient folder (B) and it's subfolders; when I select a batch of files from A and try to drag and drop them into the subfolder on (B) without opening that subfolder, it causes the problem; when I open the subfolder on (B) first and drag and drop the selected image files onto the list of existing files, it works fine. I get about 130 megps this way and no stops or dips to near zero.

An example: 28 Wren photos, 250meg (!) each from drive A to Drive B: "birds by species"/subfolder Wren" takes about 60 seconds when I have the subfolder open and dnd into list of existing files in the open subfolder/Wren instead of dropping into the name of the subfolder in the list of all subfolders on Drive B.

There have been reports of problems similar to OPs' ever since W11 22H2 was released. It's most often caused by MS' aggressive power-saving features, which have been known to brick nVME drives by cutting off power, usually when sleep state is triggered during a large file transfer. Other times its caused by an update, the recent increase in frequency of problems due to the fact AI is actually worse at coding without error than human beings.

The affected models were running an experimental lab version of the firmware by mistake. Just upgrade the firmware to the latest standard version using the utilities provided by the manufacturer and you should be OK. Also for USB flash drives or USB hard disks, it might be that a cheap model cannot sustain a high transfer rate for too long and hangs. To solve this use a file copy utility that can limit the transfer rate to a set value, such as Ultra Copier.
