I agree 100%. I use EaseUS Todo paid version. I'd just rather not to go through the hassle.👍

Aw...
Make a fresh backup and then do the update.


The trick to using backup software is keeping the used space on the Windows drive... small.
Like, under 60GB. Then backups and restores are fast and easy.
Install large programs or large games on a different drive entirely.

The stuff in the RED box is all I have to backup.
Backups take 100 seconds, restores take 80 seconds.

I use Karen's Replicator (free), to copy Disk 1 to Disk 2.
I do that manually, when ever I change something on Disk 1.

Exactly what about imaging is a hassle for you? Surely it's worth always keeping yourself protected. With any update, ten thousand other users may experience no issues at all but it may send your system into a tailspin. Why gamble.

I'm not as obsessed with how often I make system images as some folks, usually only once a month before update Tues. unless I make major changes in between. It takes me 5 minutes to image my system drive and that includes my apps. Each image is about 40gb. Only my data is on a separate drive. Now that I no longer work, my data doesn't change all that much but it still gets imaged every 2 months even though it takes a whole 15 minutes out of my life.
