Would This Ram Be Compatible with my Motherboard?

My Firestorm only uses a about 2.8 GB and I have an enormous wardrobe. I don't know why yours is so high, unless you were at a crowded location. Combined with dullahan-host, mine still doesn't reach 3.5 GB. You can see that in this screen shot from my Firestorm first logon (standing at home, after it settles down):



So I tried going to a really crowded place in Second Life, and this is what I got:



That is a typical day for my machine. You will notice that I don't have Steam, or Discord, or Outlook loaded. A lot of those things can be run on demand, there is no reason to have them cluttering up your memory if you aren't using them. And as far as Edge goes, well it's forced upon me, but I have no reason to ever execute the file. There are better browsers out there.

As far as Your quest for better RAM, I am using TeamGroup DDR5-6000 in my PC and it has been running flawlessly. It was a little cheaper than GSkill, which I also recommend. In any case, you should check the QVL for your motherboard to make sure what RAM has been tested to work in that PC and what the possible configurations are.

Around 16GB of memory used sounds about right, depending on exactly what you're running. I don't think there's a burning reason you have to upgrade memory immediately unless you just want more memory.

Wasn't aware of Standby memory, but good to know indeed.

Standby memory is just waiting to be used.

As for SecondLife i was just on my Home sim, which isn't busy at all, just driving around a bit, mine always been sorta high in SecondLife in terms of memory usage these days

Discord i keep open for chat messages related to Home sim, as Home sim Discord is on that

Steam i could close i suppose til ready to game on that

Outlook i can probably close as well, as not really planning on sending any mail at this time

I would buy only ram that MSI has on their qvl for that mobo.

Though why does my memory still say Hardware Reserved 406MB, i disabled the On-board video in UEFI during 2nd Reboot eariler.

Well guess i can wait til next offical AMD video driver released, and cleanup current driver and install the newer one, and all should be good

Mine has over 200MB reserved. Other hardware. You can track it down to other devices, but probably not worth the effort.

I see 235MB Reserved, no big deal I suspect. Lots of stuff has memory buffers I'm sure.

Oh wait that could be for my host memory buffer 990 evo plus boot NVMe

Didn't think of the disks, I have two NVMe drives and a SATA SSD in this system, they could need some buffers.
