My PC runs very great on 11, 4th generation i3-4130, 12gb ram (2nd is 4gb 1333mhz bruh inst. of 1600), gt 1030 ddr4, 120gb hdd for system and 500gb hdd for games. A little budget pc.

As for compatibility, you should check if u insert the TPM 2.0 chip on the motherboard into tpm slot? I have TPM 1.2, but i updated from win 10 through insider-thing without any requirements

The requirement for TPM2.0 is not required at present, but it has been stated by MS that it and other requirements for security systems will be required for the release version

Yeah, because the Insider builds from the Dev channel have relaxed requirements right now allowing people with unsupported hardware to still try Win11. Since the OS is not final, right now, what you can do, right now, is also not really all that informative in terms of what will be.

I'm one of those, TPM? I even ordered one of the add-on TPM card for my ancient Gigabyte X370, then found out my newly purchased Ryzen 9 3900X has it on-chip. Cancelled the order and my insider preview is working perfectly. I use it as my main OS, with W10 on another login as backup.

No I said I do not think it will have any new security features by RTM.

After reading and rereading this thread I have to say that there wont be a first batch of Windows 11 computers. Just computer with Windows 11 installed. There is no brand new just released hardware required to run Windows 11. The only difference would be that instead of Windows 10 being installed it would have Windows 11 installed.

@Winuser: agreed. New PCs sold after the official release date had better comply with -- and include -- Windows 11 OEM installs.

They already are. As far as I know there is no new hardware required to use Windows 11. Unless someone is buying a old computer or a very cheep computer it should already meet all the Windows 11 requirements.

When Win11 goes RTM the plan is to restore the system image of my main 'daily use' laptop to this one. That way I can migrate all my files and software that I've spent the last 10 years configuring just how I want them. Yes, 10 years is not a typo, the old machine came with W7, got W10 in 2015, but is far below spec to get W11.

It's only a modest spec processor, but that's not the main criteria for choosing it. The 1TB of storage was the most important factor for its intended use. Price when new in December 2020 was around £350, with just 40 days power on time recorded by its HDD £220 ($300) seemed a good price.

Have done similar but not a laptop, got a refurbished Dell Inspiron 3881 small desktop from Dell Outlet, which I'm running Win11 on, works surprisingly well actually, better than I was expecting! i5-10400, 240GB M2, 1TB hdd and 16GB DDR4 should be enough to mess around with. And I have future use earmarked for it having had one PC expire that needed replacing. Bit cautious about playing with 11 on my main PCs for the moment.

Me too, that's why I'm waiting until the official W11 release before even thinking of transplanting the 'personality' of my main machine into its new 'body'. And when I do it will be transferred as W10. I intend it to be updated by MS through Windows Update only when it's running on fully supported hardware.

I do however have a few more laptops, each with its own use (my best spec one runs all my VMs, for example). One of them I regard as my 'spare' general purpose machine. I'm quite happy to use the workarounds to upgrade that one to 11 now, to play with it get familiar with 11 before the tackling my main machine. It's System Two in my specs below.

Yes that's the one.

Looks nice, but it comes with Home edition.

If you want to do an install from win10 boot media on that machine, you need to integrate a couple of drivers into boot.wim image 2.
Or you could do the browse and then load drivers thing from winpe

The zip says HP, but it is the same for dell

I upgraded it to pro before I upgraded to 11 used the retail key off my dead PC.

Just to add the original Home is backed up with Macrium as is the upgrade to pro and now 11, think I'm covered.

I would if not I would not be using Win 11 on my PC as the default and only OS..

Wow, here is a general comment (rather than individual responses)

Technical people tend to believe that technology is the most important issue and that everything will develop along technological lines. Business people tend to believe that commerce is the most important issue and that everything will develop along commercial lines.

Usually, the business people win in our evil capitalist society. For them, it is a simple matter of a simple software routine to switch on/off what systems Windows 11 will install on or not. This is done to protect multi-billion $ revenue streams, technology has nothing to do with it.

For example, MS has stated that it will review the list of supported processors. The almighty $ will draw/redraw the line via that simple software routine, not technology considerations about identical instruction sets and what not.

Also, investments in Windows 10 tapering down and investments in Windows 11 ramping up, is simply product life cycle management from a $ perspective, and technology (including the security aspect) will follow. Sure, security is already very good these days, and for most people it is more a 'peace of mind' issue, like putting your life savings in the bank, rather than under your own mattress. Of course, cyber security issues are on the rise, always have been, and always will be.

Sorry, if I offend people, but don't blame me, blame the $.

P.S. I myself have decided what to do about the inevitable early mistakes in Windows 11 (or early mistakes in any mass product release, for that matter). I will buy an early (and cheap) Windows 11 laptop to monitor things for myself, and buy a Windows 11 desktop as soon as possible (desktop has always been my main workhorse). FWIW, I have put a yes vote in the poll to reflect buying the early Windows 11 laptop.

I took a look at the laptops (no visible desktops) at Walmart, and every one I saw was running an Intel i3 CPU. There may have been a couple of high-dollar ones I didn't look at though. I mainly looked at the more affordable ones.

I don't have a clue whether an i3 CPU
