Would you purchase refurbish HDDs?

Umm........

"HDD"....whahdatiz ?????

Just kidding of course, since the last 4 of my WD VelociRaptors just recently gave up the ghost, after almost 20 years of wonderful, trouble-free service as external back-up & storage drives.....

BUT, you would be hard pressed to get me to actually PAY for a used one, but even if free, I would be very hesitant to install one into any of my rigs. given that that would be the only way to know what's on it & the risks associated with doing so....

Additional proven test runs = more data to support reliability claims. What's more, Backblaze has published some statistical reports to show that, generally, HDD failure rates tend to decline rather significantly during the first few months after they start using the HDDs in their storage pods.

No, even though it's true that neither is universally dominant, the "thing" these days is to move away from "everything in the cloud" and embrace the hybrid cloud model like I said.

I wasn't trying to convince anyone. Just letting people know that the hybrid cloud model is now prevalent in modern, successful SMBs. (Fact.)

Links, please. Make sure they indicate the same or lesser rates of failure than new HDDs

As I alluded to earlier, big companies and corporations can afford to do that sort of thing. Small companies and mom & pop individual business can't. Again, they typically farm out that type of thing to third parties.
