Hello everyone!
I have this same issue with no resolution:
Thread 'Wifi won't turn on/scan' Wifi won't turn on/scan
I detail here the thread:
i've just repasted my Dell XPS 13 (9310) as it gets super hot and thought that might help.
I've put it back together and now wifi seems to be broken. The device is there in device manager, I have latest drivers from Dell (same ones that worked before repasting). Now I go to wifi, turn it on and it just says Not available. It doesn't scan or find anything. I've tried uninstalling the device and reinstalling the drivers but nothing seems to be working.
I open the wifi panel from the bottom right, toggle it to on, it immediately flips back to off. I do it again and it appears to remain on but nothing happens.
Additional things I've tried:
1) installed Ubuntu, the wifi works
2) updated the bios, reset option to both factory and bios configuration
3) updated and reinstalled Intel chipset drivers
4) downgraded, upgraded, reinstalled the wifi drivers several times
5) changed startup and power settings
None of this works. Windows still registers an event that says that the device has failed to start. I've read other forums and they all say that changing the motherboard was the solution but you can guess that living in Argentina this turns out very difficult and expensive.
Any other suggestions?
