32' 4K Monitor Backlight Shadow Issue and Dead Pixels?

Samsung 32' Viewfinity UJ59 4K Monitor.

Notice the black shadow spots on the upper left side and the middle of the monitor. I can still use the monitor fine even in the middle of the screen. However, the top left area with the shadow makes it hard to look at it. I read this is a backlight issue? I'm not sure exactly how this happened but I might have pressed on that area too hard which caused this when moving the monitor.

Do I have any dead Pixels on the monitor?

I bought this monitor for around close to $500 USD or so. I paid a lot more than usual because this is outside the US.

How much is this monitor worth if I sell it at this condition? For reference, it would cost about $435 USD at the moment here brand new. Because of this condition, is it worth about $50-$150? I know in the US, this wouldn't even be worth more than $50 maybe? The first picture is how it looks when I lock the computer so you don't really notice any shadows. If I'm visiting websites with a nonwhite background, it's definitely usable. I'm looking to sell it and am curious how much it's worth.

Looks like you have an LED, or several LEDs out. Since it isn't a black bar, I suspect there isn't a power issue as the rest of the strip is lit. To have it serviced will likely get closed to the replacement cost, and it's a risky repair taking the panel apart and unsticking the strip, etc. It is possible it was physical, but unlikely

What do you mean by LED? This monitor isn't an LED monitor. Or you mean LED lights? It's an LCD monitor I believe?

So fixing it would cost same price as buying new?

How much would you say it's worth if selling it to someone?

As bad as that is? $0. You can find perfectly working models for $80 on Ebay.

Very few people will want a faulty monitor like the two you're hoping to sell because the problems could get worse. Someone might want one for spare parts. However, the shipping costs will exceed the value so selling it locally for cash (pickup only) is the most practical option. You'll be lucky to get as much as $50.

Same answer as your other monitor thread.

The second image has signs of Display panel aging, specifically the White Backlight LEDS. The backlight LEDS on the left have aged/died and changed.

The blackish marks are either dust/debris on the surface of the panel or within the LCD layers.
Whilst the surface can be cleaned carefully, between the LCD layers means re-assembly of the display panel/new one.

Not worth anything, you may have problems just giving that away, re-cycling I would think.

LEDs are the backlighting on LCD panels


Honestly, worth is near zero except someone who will salvage and sell any working parts on eBay, etc.

Most people wouldn't continue using a monitor like this? To me, it's only an issue if looking at the top left corner and only if the background is white like in the Google website. If it's a different color, you don't notice it that bad.
