So I'm using a 32' 4k samsung monitor with a 24' 1920x1200 monitor on a small folding table that is very small. Should be using a 6 foot folding table instead as I have my laptop, external keyboard and external mouse on the same table.

Now the way I have my 32' 4k monitor is all the way put to the back but a bit to the left side. The 24' monitor... it's put to the right so a bit sideways if you know what I mean. My laptop is put on the left side of the table but it's a bit more towards the left/middle of the table. My external keyboard is in the middle/lower part of the table. Then I have a wireless mouse on the right side of the table.

I move my neck around a lot from the 32' monitor to the 24' monitor. I also look to the left of the 32' monitor as well with the laptop screen. So you can imagine how much neck pain there is moving your neck from one screen to another for multiple hours. Back then when I used 2 monitors... both 24' 1920x1200 monitors... I moved my neck from left to right a lot but there was rarely ever any neck pain because I put my monitors next to each other like a reverse V so to speak. Once I put the 32' 4k monitor... very uncomfortable moving my neck around looking from one monitor to another.

Now if I were to get a 32' 4k curved monitor, would it make it better or it would be same situation? Now the one issue with the 32' 4k samsung monitor I have is because it's a big monitor, it's very hard to look at the corners of the monitor. So when moving around looking, it's not comfortable at all. Now this is a samsung uj59 monitor which is a VA panel and 60 hz. I know many people say IPS is a lot better but I never cared about that. I find the screen fine for it though the colors do seem a little bit washed up but that doesn't bother me. I also don't need any higher than 60 hz.

I know dell and samsung sells a 32' 4k curved monitor. They both seem to be VA but the dell one seem to allow you to adjust the height of it which seem very important... would most agree? My samsung one you cannot. Now does anyone here have experience using a curved monitor and their experience? I particularly want to know from people who went from a 32' 4k monitor to a 32' 4k curved monitor and if it made a huge difference or not. Surely you can look at everything on the screen at the corners much easier with a curved monitor? Also will you have less neck pain? The other thing is who here went from using two 32' 4k monitors to two 32' 4k curved monitors and if so, is this always recommended? I only have one 32' 4k monitor and a 24' 1920x1200 monitor and wondering if I should buy a 32' 4k curved monitor or not. Also... do people agree having two 32' 4k monitors side by side is very hard to use because of how big the screens are? However... if it's two 32' 4k curved monitors...it's much easier?

Just my opinion but I don’t think having two 32” curved monitors side by side is going help with the neck issues. I think maybe you are too close to the screens and that’s the route of your neck issues. BTW I have a 34” Alienware 4K OLED and a 27” 1920 x 1200 mounted above. I use the PC for gaming, mostly flight sims.

Each to their own, but I hate curved monitors.
Things don't look right on them in my eyes. They annoy me and give me a sore neck.

Well the main issue here is my folding table is only 4 feet wide and not deep enough. So because of that, I am putting the 32' 4k samsung monitor as far back as I could but it is nowhere as far back as where I want it to be. So a 6 feet folding table would be deeper and thus make me sit farther from it.

However say I was far back from it. Wouldn't a curved monitor be better though in terms of looking at everything from the sides of the monitor compared to a regular monitor? The thing is when I used two 24' 1920x1200 monitors side by side and put them like a reverse V, it was very comfortable looking at these smaller monitors left to right and moving my neck left to right did not bother me at all. However, when I got the 32' 4k monitor, it was uncomfortable just looking at that... forget about me even looking at it and then looking right to the 24' 1920x1200 monitor and to the left of it... my dell xps 15 laptop screen.

Do most people hated curved monitors? I thought a curved monitor would allow you to look at almost everything on the 32' 4k monitor easier than a regular flat 32' 4k monitor? For example very hard to look at the bottom left and bottom right on the 32' 4k monitor. But I feel like with a 32' 4k curved, it would be easier with even the small desk I have? Surely it would felt at least a bit more comfortable?

The other thing is say I was to use two 32' 4k monitors. I would put it side by side where you make a reverse V. The thing though is since a 32' 4k monitor is so much bigger than a 24' monitor... wouldn't it be not comfortable and bothersome on the neck even if you have these two 32' 4k monitors far back on the desk and not too close and you looking left and right throughout? But wouldn't two 32' 4k curved monitors side by side to make a reverse V so to speak ... it would actually look like a reverse U since it's curved... wouldn't it be easier to look at compared to two 32' 4k non curved monitors?

I always heard curved monitors are like a gimmick but I got to assume if you were to use 1 or 2 32' 4k monitors... curved has to be easier on the neck and to look at compared to 1 or 2 32' noncurved monitors?

I have a pair of 32 inch curved monitors on my desk. One directly in front of me and one to my right. I have no issues with neck pain, eye strain, or anything else with my set up.

I like the curved monitors as I feel that they are a little easier on the eyes at the extreme edges of the screen. They don't seem to be as far away as on a flat screen. Personal preference I guess. As with anything, YMMV.

How many times are you going to bring up the 4' and 6' table subject? If you truly have a 32' monitor and a 24' monitor you're going to need more than a 6' table.

If you're getting a sore neck from scanning 2 adjacent monitors, you need more exercise!
I have six screens all over the place, I make do!

@Edwin You didn't count the phone at the top left of your desk pad.

Nice setup. The three main monitors look like a matched set. Pre-planning and budgeting called for to achieve that end.

I would propose different configurations for a desk that is 70" long x 29" deep and needs to hold 1 x 32" monitor and 1 x 24" desk monitors.

As you may know, having one 32" monitor and one 24" monitor on a 70" long x 29" deep desk can have ergonomic and visual consequences. According to 1, the correct ergonomic sitting position includes having both feet on the floor, as this keeps the pelvis balanced and makes it easier for you to arch your lower back. Your elbows should be by the side of your body so your arm forms an L-shape at the elbow joint. You should also sit straight in your chair, resisting the urge to slouch.

In terms of visual consequences, having one 32" monitor and one 24" monitor on a 70" long x 29" deep desk can cause eye strain and fatigue. According to 2, if the display is angled and the neck is always turned to one side, this awkward posture for prolonged periods can cause pain, weakness, and muscle fatigue. To reduce neck strain, one monitor is almost always better than two. They suggest that less distance between the user and display, better viewing angles, and reduced neck strain are some of the reasons why one monitor is better than two.

Considering the above, I would like to propose the following configurations for the desk:

  1. L-Shaped Desk: An L-shaped desk can provide ample space for one 32" monitor and one 24" monitor and other office essentials. It can also provide a separate space for writing or other tasks. This configuration can help reduce neck strain and provide a comfortable viewing angle for both monitors.
  2. Adjustable Desk: An adjustable desk can help you switch between sitting and standing positions. This configuration can help reduce eye strain and fatigue by allowing you to adjust the height of the monitors to your eye level. It can also help you maintain a healthy posture and reduce the risk of back pain.
  3. Monitor Arm: A monitor arm can help you adjust the height and angle of the monitors. This configuration can help you maintain a comfortable viewing angle and reduce eye strain. It can also help you free up desk space and keep your desk organized.
  4. Dual Monitor Stand: A dual monitor stand can help you position the monitors at the right height and angle. This configuration can help you maintain a comfortable viewing angle and reduce eye strain. It can also help you free up desk space and keep your desk organized.
  5. Wall Mount: A wall mount can help you position the monitors at the right height and angle. This configuration can help you maintain a comfortable viewing angle and reduce eye strain. It can also help you free up desk space and keep your desk organized.
  6. Monitor Riser: A monitor riser can help you elevate the monitors to your eye level. This configuration can help you maintain a comfortable viewing angle and reduce eye strain. It can also help you free up desk space and keep your desk organized.
I hope these configurations will help you choose the best setup for your desk. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

P.S. Are you concerned about power consumption? I’ve included reference links.
The power consumption of a monitor can vary depending on various factors such as the brand, model, brightness settings, and usage patterns 1. However, a typical 24-inch LCD monitor consumes around 20-25 watts of power, while a 32-inch monitor consumes 40-45 watts 1.

The wattage of your monitor can generally be found in the user manual or on the device itself 1. It’s important to note that the power consumption of any monitor varies mostly on the display technology used, the screen size, the build quality, the brightness of the screen, what is shown on display, and the saving settings 2. Generally, a standard LCD computer monitor consumes between 15 and 30 watts of electricity while operational 2. This consumption can differ based on the monitor’s size and resolution, as screens that are larger and have higher resolutions tend to use more energy 2.

In terms of power consumption, a 32-inch monitor consumes almost twice as much power as a 24-inch monitor 1. This is because the larger screen requires more energy to fill the screen 2. The resolution and screen size of a monitor greatly affect the power consumption. The sharper the images, the more power is needed to display them 3.

It’s important to note that the power consumption of a monitor can be reduced by adjusting the brightness settings and using power-saving modes 1. A bright screen consumes more power than a dimmed screen 3. Therefore, it’s advisable to adjust the brightness settings of your monitor to a comfortable level that doesn’t strain your eyes and saves energy 2.

In conclusion, the power consumption of a 24-inch monitor is around 20-25 watts, while a 32-inch monitor consumes 40-45 watts 1. The wattage of your monitor can generally be found in the user manual or on the device itself 1. The power consumption of any monitor varies mostly on the display technology used, the screen size, the build quality, the brightness of the screen, what is shown on display, and the saving settings 2. Therefore, it’s advisable to adjust the brightness settings of your monitor to a comfortable level that doesn’t strain your eyes and saves energy.

And a word on desk chairs;
The importance of a good ergonomic chair. As you may know, ergonomic chairs are designed to provide comfort, support, and efficiency to the user. They are often equipped with adjustable features and special support for the back and neck.

One of the most significant benefits of an ergonomic chair is that it can help the user maintain good posture. Poor posture can lead to a host of health issues, including back pain, neck pain, and headaches. An ergonomic chair can help reduce strain and fatigue, which can prevent these health issues from arising.

Moreover, ergonomic chairs can help increase productivity. When you are comfortable and supported, you are less likely to experience discomfort or pain, which can distract you from your work. This can help you focus better and work more efficiently.

Another benefit of ergonomic chairs is that they can help prevent long-term health issues. Sitting for extended periods can lead to poor circulation, which can cause blood clots and other health problems. Ergonomic chairs can help reduce the risk of these issues by promoting good posture and providing support for the back and neck.

Ergonomic chairs can also be beneficial for people with pre-existing health conditions. For example, people with arthritis or other joint problems may find that ergonomic chairs help reduce pain and discomfort. Similarly, people with chronic back pain may find that ergonomic chairs help alleviate their symptoms.

In conclusion, a good ergonomic chair is essential for maintaining good health and productivity. It can help prevent health issues, increase productivity, and provide comfort and support.

1: According to Ergonomic Chairs Direct, an ergonomic chair is a chair that is designed to consider the health, comfort, and efficiency of the user. It often has adjustable features and special support for the back and neck. An ergonomic chair can help the user maintain good posture, reduce strain and fatigue, and prevent health issues. However, not all ergonomic chairs suit various types of people, as they may be based on a standard height and body shape.

    …still on a horse.
You could buy two wall mounts and mount them at a comfortable height for you and at a comfortable distance apart from each other. This will give you more table space so your stuff has less chance of falling on your floor and getting dirty.

Anyone have opinion on this dell curved 32' 4k and the flat non curved? The 1st seem to have really good reviews. The second seems to have very mixed reviews? It seems the 2nd dell one people mentioned washed colors and say it's one of the worst 32' 4k monitors out ther?

Now surely the curved monitor is better than literally every 32' 4k or 32' 4k curve monitor that is VA right? I know IPS monitors are very expensive and to me are not necessary. I also hear people talk about 144hz but I know 60hz is what is needed which almost all 4k monitors have. Would you say the dell 32 curved 4k is better than any other samsung or lg 32' 4k that is VA and 60hz? I have a samsung 32' 4k uj590 and it definitely isn't the brightest and looks a bit washed out but I'm okay with it.

So this dell 32' 4k curve is really good then right as long as you don't care about it being VA and 60hz? It also allows you to adjust height and tilt and many 32' 4k monitors don't even do that.

Always been a big fan of the Dell Ultrasharps. Using a 38" one for work and it's great.
