A reinvented winipcfg -> IPGui

IPGui

This app was ment to be a replacement of winipcfg, but as I worked with it it turned out as so much more.
When you look at it it just looks like a colorful vedrsion of winipcfg. But Under the Action -> NetTools in the menu you have the follrowing functions )screenshots below):

Ping
A simple interface for pinging hosts.
IP scanner
To scan for devices on the local network.
With directly link to Port scanner and Shares scanner for the chosen IP.
NS Lookup
To query Domain Name System (DNS) servers.
Traceroute
To trace the route to a host.
PortScan
It's a simple port-scanner to see which ports are open on your system or other hosts.
DHCP Status.
Netwok usage
This function is very enhnced with tools to do your own measurement over a set time.
To accomplish that, there are two lines of usage monitoring. One counts from you started the computer.
The other one start from zero. You can reset the counter to zero and even set the time you want
the counter to collect info. It would be nice to know how much data is used (both ways) when
you are using Youtube one hour? Well with this you can.
Made human readable while using tooltip to please the geeks with 8 decimals and raw bytes.
Arp (Address Resolution Protocol) fuctionality.
WiFi Scanner
Network adapter discovery tool.
HTTPS Certificate check
This tool can see what certificate a web site has and even delete a locally stored certificate, if needed.
MTU Discovery, to set your MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit).
Hosts File Editor.
Netstat statistics.
Quickly spot network issues:
High error, discard, or failure counts may indicate hardware problems, bad cables, driver issues, or misconfiguration.
DNS Cache Viewer
DNS cache entries show which hostnames your system has recently resolved and what IP addresses they mapped to.
Whois (RDAP) lookup.
Works like whois, but uses a more modern protocol, Registration Data Access Protocol.
LAN Shares
Will find all shares in your network or the range you set.

So it became a quite bigger and quite a useful tool for any support person or for the user itself. Only english version, I'm afraid.

Can you report the PMTUD status? If PMTUD is enabled, you probably don't need to run MTU discovery since Windows is already doing the same work. But it might be disabled for some users. Thanks.

Well, I am currently working on another project You will find also that in this forum - right now it is a winget updater app, but I am working on a program manger for it now.
As I said this was really just ment to be a replacement for winipcfg, that I made since I help people with their computers and wanted to make my own job easier, but I will look into it. But, still there is no harm in doing it even if Windows also set it.

I have added the PMTUD status. I also added a button to enable/disable PMTUD.
It's (naturally) on the MTU dialog.
Turned out that it was mostly just a registry value, so I could add it quite fast.

I found the package mingw-w64-clang-x86_64-mcfgthread-libs-2.2.2-1-any.pkg.tar I needed.

The program works now.

I used that file and yes it now works however i can't read most of it as it's using a white font on a white background.

Needed to install the package mentioned above to get it to work and can second the white text on white background issue.

New version , 4.1.8, made to adress issues from users.

I have now included the missing dll in the package, so the MinGW-problem should be gone now.
I have also used QT's stylesheeting to set the color, so that problem should also be gone now. Things like that is why I left QT and use Windows API now, even if it is more difficult. It's also more consistent.

I am just a geek, 60 years old, that is trying to make some good apps, so I have this one laptop to test on. I would be super happy if you gave me feedback on the white on white issue.

Installed 4.1.8 and received the same error about the missing file as previous version -- downloading file mentioned earlier solved issue.

Able to read information - that error has been fixed.

This time it's both files that were contained in that .tar mentioned earlier, not just one. After extracting both files to the folder, it worked fine.

Version 4.1.9 publihed!

Now the MinGW dll issue should now be solved. Nice if someone could confirm that for me.

Yes i did. I used some stylesheeing in QT and according to Taliseian, it is now solved. Check it out, Since you are using different themes in Windows, these things can happen. But it should be fixed. If it isn't for you, give me feedback and I will try even more robust approach.

OK I’ll have another look. If it's useful i am only using Windows 25H2 in Dark Mode.
