Advice with New Outlook for a Windows Mail User

Windows 11 Home. Win Version 23H2
I have been quite happy with Windows Mail But I keep getting messages to Upgrade to the New Outlook.
I have never used the old one so it is all new to me.
I have a Gmail account I use and never really sign into Microsoft for anything.

You can tell as when I signed into Microsoft I got 100s of messages starting from 2019.

It it a good idea for me to use New Outlook?
It looks interesting but a bit complicated.

Windows Mail app is getting replaced next year so you might as well try it out. It's ok for a freebie. You will need to open it and minimize it for notification for now. Hopefully Ms will fix that in future.

Seems it will only let me have windows mail or the new outlook one
It added one of my Gmail accounts OK
But it's asking to sign into Microsoft too which I really don't want to do.
Plus I can't see where to set up labels in it.

I don't think they're called labels in Outlook. You can create a new folder.

On the left pane expand your email address and it should show at the bottom.

They are called Categories in Outlook. You need to right click on an individual email and then you can assign it a category.

I am working learning New Outlook on my PC
But are we talking about the Online Version?

Plus if it is I am trying to sign into it. But it just shows my old microsoft account which I dont use at all
My 2 Gmail addresses that I use in Windows Mail are not there
Well confused now

I'm confused too! Earlier you said it had added one of your gmail accounts but now you say your two gmail accounts are missing. Anyway I would suggest that for now you just go back to using Mail. You would still be able to try the new outlook whenever to check whether your missing gmail accounts are appearing, which they should I think.

Though the 2 email accounts have appeared again. Very strange.
Was only on the online account
Think I will stick to Windows Mail for now though.
