win11
Hi, I've learned a lot on this forum but came across an issue I can't find answer to:

I have a dell laptop (precision 5690) with 2 SSDs
Both have Win11 Professional installed.
One SSD came with Dell, The other is salvaged from my old PC.
I really liked the screen in win10 where I would get the "choose an operating system" screen my desktop PC showed:

choose an operating system screen.webp

Is there a way to set it up this way on my dell laptop?

Many thanks in advance for the reply

A.

Now you have two drives, each one with the boot manager on it. They are completely independent.
You have, under BIOS, a boot priority drive (default boot drive).
To choose the other drive, you should launch the boot menu (F12?) during POST (both drives should be there) and select the one to boot from.

To have a boot option screen every time you boot, you must install the option of booting the other drive on the default boot manager of the default drive.
I prefer the boot menu option (F12) as normally you have a default OS and you don't loose time every time you boot.

I can give you the commands to add the second drive to the default boot manager.

Witch drive you want to be default, drive 0 or drive 1?

Thank you for your reply.
Seems like I’ve messed up something moving the Disk 1 to this laptop.
I like your suggestion of holding F12 during boot. It is much quicker as it saves rebooting if I wanted to log to the other OS.

For what I understood you going to leave as it is and use the F12 to launch the boot menu.

If you're done, please mark this thread as solved.
