Playing Division 2 with a new character I created for mule purposes - too much junk in my inventory.

Anyway, now that I've had to game mechanics down from the first go around, I find even at low level of my new character, the game is much easier.

Fallout 4. Been playing it for eons now. Then suddenly I put the game on and there are more 'mods' added without me knowing. It is suddenly a whole new, harder game. I was in Vault 88, but game loops when I complete game and have to report back to her. Then Machinist, which I cant finish at final scene pc freezes. Now I am in Nuka World and boy is it hard! The developer, whoever the genius is, even managed to make sure 99% of the bugs were fixed.

I found two new Microsoft Links 2003, HD courses that look easy but are pretty hard, and they're pretty too.

Crooked Creek HD (18th hole - birdie) 15 under par for the round... no mulligans.
Great shot out of the trap... (RED line upper right - points to the ball - black dot).
This course has sand traps that almost growl at you.

Just scored 16 under on the 2nd round... with TWO bogies, one each on 10 and 11.

Golf, real or video... is truly and old man's game.

100% a game, Looks like a ps2 game lol. New pga still looks like a game and its 20 years newer lol.
Loving it so far, over 30 laser scanned real courses with all the real tournaments! Hands down best golf game since around 2003.
How many shop types etc in links? Think pga has over 30 types, Flops, Long flops, Spinners, Runners, blasts, finesses, knockdowns, punches, stingers etc etc, Also the fades and draws are real fun

There's more in settings...

This game also has 1000's of user made courses, real and fictional. Twenty years worth.
And for the real courses they too use accurate elevations, and flora, and winds, and noises... etc.

I tried the newer ones. They're OK, but they're also a place that wastes my time with various golf company name dropping.
I don't "need" 15 different club or shoe or hat manufacturers in the Pro Shop.
Also, I want it to be a bit hard.. like real life.

And I don't want to be "forced" into rounds against computer players or friends.
I want me against the course. The ONLY thing I wish they'd have added to Links 2003 was the wind speed.
They have the direction, but.

Again, that's kind of like real life. On a course you can tell the wind direction, but not really the speed, accurately.

I HAVE checked out the newer games. I've done it a lot. I'm a big boy, and have been gaming for a long time.

When I pick a game, it has to have certain things....
At least OK graphics, enough immersion to make it difficult but not so much that immersion is the name of the game.

That's what's wrong with simulation games... too much immersion. MS Flight Sim... good game but too much immersion.
I don't want to be FAA approved after I've played it for a while. I just want... fun for a bit.
Something I can pick up and put down for twenty minutes or an hour. I don't really want a non-ending learning curve.
Been there, done that. Now I'm older, I don't really want that anymore.
I just want a little fun.

The rest of my time is spent on the real life issues, like how to get up and down the steps.
Figuring out why I can't carry 250 lbs. anymore, or why running at all would probably kill me. LOL
Other fun, real life immersion things... like why I can't eat Stuffed Shells all the time, or why I have eleven meds I have to take.

I started playing DS3 after Elden Ring which was not a good idea. Because the graphics were not even comparable and felt real bad compared to elden ring. It took me some time to get used to it and finally I find the game to be as much engaging and fun if not better then elden ring.

There is a channel on Youtube called JoeHammerGaming were you can find great guides and walkthrough for both DS3 and elden ring. Some maybe don't like using walkthrough etc... but it helps a lot when you are stuck or need to figure out what is needed to be done. anyway the channel helped me a lot being able to play and enjoy the game instead of being blocked somewhere and pulling out my hair! :)

You just said you like all the sim aspects like wind etc etc and how hard it is, But the new ones are too hard and too sim? Just saying thats like so contradicting, In other words the old physics systems are easier and less realistic but have similar wording.
All these courses were laser scanned and worked on by the course owners as well as the developer, Other than just data and numbers. Like the car game i play assetto corsa, Its all mods now and the data is from the real cars etc but they arent even close to legit, even though loads think it is, it really really isnt.

It has easier modes to make the swinging easier/more difficult etc and more scalability than in all honesty i was expecting, Believe it or not, i have played links, not for a long time albeit and i dont have any bad memories that i remember, Great game from the time, Just physics systems etc etc from 2003 are factually not as accurate or realistic as they are now, are the new ones perfect? Hell na, But they damn alot better than 20 years ago.

Not playing something because it requires a launcher or client is absolute madness, So what.
All the clothing etc etc is entirely optional and makes 0 impact on the game at all. Neither to fancy taylor made clubs etc, all cosmetic.
I Think you've been watching too much of the 2k pga tour games, They aren't even on the same level as Ea's new one, And i'd even say tiger woods 03 trumps links.

Thanks for the YouTube channel! I also use the Elden Ring Wiki. I keep getting beaten to pieces by Commander Niall. I just read a new strategy where you eliminate the dual sword-wielding spirit knight and whack away at Commander Niall for a bit to get him down in HP before killing the shield-bearing knight. I'm going to try that out and see if it works better when I have time.
