App icon not working.

Hello all,

I would like some help removing an app icon from all apps.
I installed Alienware Update software after a clean install of Windows 11. I don’t know how but I now have two app icons for Alienware Update, one works and one does not.
I have tried uninstalling then reinstalling the program, but the bad icon is not affected.
I would like to know if there is a way to remove the one that does not work.

You should be to use an option in the tutorial below to remove apps (items) from the Start menu > All Apps list.

The problem is the icon that is not working is not in the program folder for the start menu.
I have tried all of your tutorials, but I cannot find the app icon.

It appears to be a desktop app that should be able to be removed from All Apps.

Just to confirm, did you check all three options in the tutorial above for the different locations?

If you right click on the app in All Apps and click/tap on "More". do you have "Open file location" that could reveal where this shortcut is located?

Yes, I check all three options in the tutorial and it is not there. I have used the options in the past with other programs with no problem.

When I right click on the app, I do not see Open file location. I do see uninstall but when I click it nothing happens.

No that didn’t help. I may have to do a clean install again to fix the problem.

If you create a new account on the PC, is the app still listed twice while signed in to the new app?

If not, then you could use the new account instead to avoid a clean install.

I will try that. The program (Alienware Update) was uninstalled with RevoUninstaller so the only icon is the one that is not working.

I went back to Windows 10. I see in the Dell Alienware forums that others are having problems with dell software not working correctly.
Logiteck G Hub was also giving me problems. So, I will give Windows 11 a try at a later date.
