Yeah, only 22 are used. Maybe i is 23 now. The point is, it may not be properly connected. They are typically fussy on the MB side.

Maybe so.

But I push the connector in until the lock engages. That has always been good enough.

And the 12VHPWR connector for my GPU has yet to go up in smoke. Its lock clicks, too.

Well and good you make sure you engage your lock. My my comment wasn't directed at you though. I've had motherboards where the lock is hard to engage. It is good your 12VHPPWR is locked and hasn't smoked, but others have.

To reply to myself, I don't mean to imply people who have had problems have necessarily messed up.

Some manufacturers have blamed issues with the 12VHPWR connectors on improper insertion, but that may be false.

My experiences are limited. I hope that my luck holds.

I thought I'd posted this question earlier, but now I can't find it... ASUS clearly stated 'Do not return the MB in the Manufacturer's box.' Does anyone know why they don't want me to use a box that was *designed* to hold and protect this specific MB? I'm going to ask them, but I thought I would ask here first. The only thing that occurs to me is the shipping costs for a heavy box.
