Bluetooth always shows as eject option

BT: Driver Date: 2021-08-26 Version: 22.80.0.4 File version: 10.0.22000.1 (Win Build:160101.0800)
Wi-fi: Driver Date: 2021-09-12 Version: 22.80.1.1
Even with older drivers it was still showing as an ejectable device.
My desktop machine dual boots win 10 and win 11. I went back to Win 10 and the driver levels were significantly older than the ones on Win 11. They were back at 22.60.0.6 for Wifi and BT. I thought I'll do this the easy way and use the Intel Driver and Support Assistant. I've used it a lot and it always seemed to keep the Intel stuff updated. However, it refused to update the Win 10 drivers and said they the latest at 22.60.0.6.

I did some searching and found the latest drivers were 22.90.0.5 WiFi and similar for BT. I loaded the new drivers up on Win 10 and confirmed them with Device Manager. No Eject icon showed up. I then loaded up the new drivers on Win 11. They were the same executable as used for Win 10. I confirmed them with Win 11 Device Manager at 22.90.0.5 WiFi and 22.90.0.4 for BT. Unfortunately, no change to our problem. The Eject icon is still present and it lists the BT for ejection.

So now I have identical (same version) drivers on Win 10 and Win 11 and only Win 11 has the problem. Also, we cannot rely on the Intel Driver Updater in either win 10 or win 11 for wifi and BT drivers. It's all very disappointing.

The locations of the new drivers are shown below.

Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® for Windows® 10

Although the second link implies only Win 10, on the page it also refers to being certified for Win 11.

Thanks for the update. I have updated the drivers for Win11 and as you say the status has not changed, nor did Intel driver assist identify that a new driver was out. Disappointing to say the least.

I am not very sure, but if the Bluetooth device is on the motherboard, it is dependent on some motherboard device. Therefore, updating the motherboard (chipset) drivers might fix the issue. But make sure you take a backup and create a system restore point before doing so because Murphy's Law says when you update the chipset drivers you might get a BSOD. Forget the motherboard manufacturer's site. Download the latest chipset driver directly from Intel/AMD (I don't remember your specs).
