Im having a hell of a time successfully burnin a win11.iso on to a USB.

i am on POP!OS and have tried a few things but keep getting a usd data disc and it wont boot

I'm not saying it can't be done on a Linux machine, just that I think you would have a better success rate of creating a windows installation usb when done in windows. Is there no one who will let your use their windows device to create it? You have a number of options. Either (1)use the media creation tool(select the option of create windows installation media for another PC) OR download the iso directly from MS and use Rufus to create it (yy preferred method)

Yes, I know. All I said was IMO the success rate of getting a viable windows installation usb when made from a windows machine would be higher..
Lord knows, folks end up with bad ones when doing it that way, too. If another windows machine is available, why would anyone want to increase his odds of creating a bad install USB using Linux or MACos. If a Linux machine is ALL he has access to, then he'll do what he has to do. As he said, whatever method he used in Linux didn't work and he tried it several times already so I gave him a suggestion that SHOULD work without issues..

In the similar thread a specific utility was mentioned that works since it successfully creates a bootable USB flash drive from the ISO. I don't remember how it was called.
