Yes, they are. I recall having to rescue data for my 83 year old aunt from her i-phone. It was a regular PITA. Apple gets really carried away with its proprietary nonsense and cables are no exception to this. Even my daughter's Galaxy tablets need the correct data/charging cable. Otherwise they'll charge but won't let them transfer data.

Unfortunately, iphones do not play nice with Windows unlike androids.

I just use onedrive to copy and paste files from pc to iphone. I just find it to be simpler than pratting around with itunes or other 3rd party apps. Works over wifi.

I hate iphones but had to buy one as my new (Scottish) NHS hearing aids were not Android compatible (I have the most powerful aids currently available on SNHS in Grampian region) and it was cheaper to buy an Iphone rather than private hearing aids (c. £300 for refurbished iphone versus £3000 for hearing aids).

Yep, I'll bet my car phone would be a collector's piece. Sadly, it went back when the company replaced the car, I got one those Motorola bricks, a real "portable" phone.

Back in the early 80's we had Bag-Phones that needed to remain plugged in to the cigarette lighter in the trucks, when I worked in concrete construction.
Then my boss had the smart idea of wiring the ringer to the truck horn! Three times climbing out of a muddy excavation to answer the phone and I'd had enough of that bullsh*t... Snip! :cool:

I disagree. I can actually operate my PC via the iPhone using the new Windows app. Best remote connection I have ever had.
It would be easier if I didn’t have 6 monitors but it’s brilliant. And I have never personally had an issue connecting via Phone Link. However I don’t use Phone Link anymore.

I THINK the Windows App is also available for Android.
