Solved Can I make my fingerprint reader work if I use only a local account?

I'm setting up a new laptop and one of the features of this machine is a fingerprint reader. During the install, I used a Microsoft account and let it learn my fingerprint. This worked fine that time or two that I used it but then I created a local administrator account and deleted the Microsoft account.

Am I correct in suspecting that the fingerprint reader ONLY works with a Microsoft account? If not, how do I make the fingerprint reader work with the local account?
