Can I use a ATX12VO Motherboard with a Lenovo PSU with 14-pin connector?

I have an old Lenovo ThinkServer TS440 that has a PSU with a proprietary connections, which is a 4-pin cpu connector and a 14-pin motherboard connector. I was thinking I would have to replace the PSU when I swap put the motherboard for a modern Intel system, but it seems that MSI plans to commit to ATX12VO power in, which uses a 10-pin connector instead of a 24-pin connector. I'm looking at the pinouts of the Lenovo PSU and the ATX12VO spec and it seems like i should be able to make an adapter that works...

it seems I can make a short adapter that removes the -12 and +5 wires and splits one of the +12 wires and merges two grounds...
it does have a 4-pin CPU header, but making that an 8-pin cpu header seems easy enough

1. Keep in mind that adequate wattage/amperage is just as important as the voltage.
2. The PSU is one of the most important parts of a computer build.
3. Just because it may be possible to do something, doesn't mean you should.

And last but not least.... Just... NO !!!!!

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?
I'll echo Ghot here:

Very, very, very bad idea. Do not mess with your power supply.
