This is the method to run all bat scripts.

Almost all of the scripts in the BSOD log collection are bat scripts.

These were created by our members.

All bat scripts will trigger the Microsoft defender smartscreen.

Then you decide whether to run or not.

Defender gives you a second opportunity to decide.

Ok will try that because I was thinking of reinstalling the OS again but foolishly deleted my Windows.old folder from the drive so in that case, I would have to reinstall Windows 10 and then go through the whole process again unless there is a repair install option.

On a side note... if you decide to reinstall Windows 11, you don't need to go back to Windows 10 first.
You can directly, do either a Win 11 In-Place upgrade or a Win 11 clean install.

1) uninstall any of these non-Microsoft software:
a) antivirus
b) firewall
c) drive encryption

2) Download and install on the desktop or create a bootable Windows 11 iso:

Cannot download and install KB5008353

I am running Windows 11 on an older machine with unsupported hardware and in Settings / Update there is an update KB5008353 which will not download and install and it shows an error 0x80073701. Now when I check out that error it seems to be linked to Windows 10?? so I am wondering just what is...

Edit: And what you can also do is create a UUP Dump ISO with the latest updates already included in the ISO. It works and it's safe. I've done it myself.

Sometimes it's just better to end the headaches and all the wasted time and bite the bullet and do it the sure way, even if the preparation takes a bit of time.

Ok I will look at doing the UUP option do a repair install as I am getting a little confused as to what to do with the suggestions in the other posts. Otherwise, I shall have to start from scratch again and wipe the drive install 10 Pro then do the Windows 11 install for unsupported hardware afterwards so that I have the original 10 activation key.

Just an update I have tried the fixes but no luck (it started to install Windows 11 but I ended up with a blue screen that they said they were working on but it never happened) so I did a system reset and got it all back to where I was. That elusive update is still not installing even though it downloads. There were some updates that were downloaded and installed after the reset just not KB5008353

Well I can mark this as solved as I just kept running the Settings troubleshooter and it finally fixed whatever was stopping me from installing this update. But anyhow thanks to you all for putting in so much help for me I really do appreciate it.:)

Yes Brian I was going to give up (very begrudgingly as I hate things beating me) I think that the machine reset plus doing the sfc and DISM restore Health checks plus giving the update troubleshooter a few runs might have done something to do with it as there were two other updates I have never seen before also downloaded as well. So all is well for the time being and until they stop support for unsupported hardware machines :wink:
