Windows 11, 22H2 (OS build 22621.819)
Sometimes, when my system has been running for a long time (particularly when I've been ALT/TAB-toggling between game and desktop), the system scrambles the input from my keyboard, causing that frigging stupid widget half-pane to pop up, and attempting to use the keyboard after closing it only opens it up again, and further keyboard input starts making other unsummoned and undesired apps to open.
At first, all I had to do to make it go away was to be persistent, closing that stupid Widgets app until the glitch "evaporated." Now I have to restart the computer. Evidently, whatever in bloody Hell the problem is resides in volatile memory. I've been using Windows since 3.1 rolled out, and I can't count how many platforms I've administered (both MSDOS- and UNIX-based), and I have never encountered this issue before. It's damned annoying.
Okay, I didn't like that ridiculously useless Widgets thing, so I disabled it (since it "decided" to make itself part of an irritating problem, previously satisfied simply by ignoring its presence). If I want to open an application or process, I can do it all on my lonesome, thank you very much. Anyway, that irritant should no longer be part of the problem. My system is not infected; I've been using Webroot SecureAnywhere for over twelve years to combat intrusions and threats, with 100% results (my system has not been compromised from external sources for over twelve years). The first time this happened, I ran a scan anyway (this started happening about two months ago), coming up clean.
I'm hoping the problem has been solved, but in the event that the gremlin "decided" to regroup, and perhaps change tactics, has anyone ever heard of this? Or am I just the luckiest damned guy in the world?
