Does it help to tidy up the Start menu, if so, is it a simple r/c delete or should i use Revo Uninstaller ?

Please explain exactly what you are trying to do.

If you are trying to limit the number of apps / processes that load with Windows, you can simply remove the items in question from the start folder, change the app setting not to start with Windows, or use something like Autoruns or a similar 3rd party app to manage items that auto start. If you want to permanently delete specific apps, you can use Programs & Features or, if you prefer, Revo, to uninstall them.

If the above doesn't help, please feel free to tell us which specific apps / processes you are trying to prevent from loading at boot.

Does it help to tidy up the Start menu...
For me it does!
To arrange shortcuts neatly, I add AltCode prefixes to the names, in the appropriate Start Menu folders, then I hide what I don't want to see via right click/Properties...
