Computer left on "sleep" state, but came back by its own

Hello,
Again, something wierd, may be my house hosts a ghost that pressed a button...
I left my computer on sleep (22H2) and the next day the computer was alive an running.
When I enter this command ->

C:\Users\....>powercfg -devicequery wake_armed
NONE

NONE is none; so why it went back alive without my consent ?

Motherboard Brand and Model please. Is it ASUS AORUS Master?

Check this first: Go to Control Panel > Device Manager > Network Adapters > right click on your LAN/Ethernet adapter > Properties > Power Management Tab > and check to see if "Allow this device to wake the computer" is checked.
If yes, uncheck it.

Thanks, but I do not think this is the culprit.. Here is how is it set. I have another 2.5 GB network card, and is the same.

Is not the "powercfg -devicequery wake_armed" command list ALL device that are allowed to wake the computer up ?
Or it misses some devices ?

You are correct, but that applies to the Windows OS. It does not address the UEFI/BIOS settings.
There is the S5 power state, sometimes called "soft-off". This state turns everything off but maintains a low power state to allow for wake up from OFF, not just from SLEEP. You might check your UEFI/BIOS settings to see if you can disable the behavior from there.

Modern Standby seems to be a thing on laptops today. I do not have Modern Standby available on my desktops. But, grain of salt, that doesn't mean it can't be a feature on any given system.

I think I found why. This is related to the task scheduler. There's a way to enable a task to wake up the computer and run.
I have backup tasks that did that by default. Let's see how it goes when disabled.
"wake the computer to run this task"
I would have liked to have a command that list all of them.

In this case, your computer could not be in s5 state. Or maybe I misunderstood.

And have you checked the tasks that have run between leaving your computer in S3 Sleep and finding it awake?
They are all listed in the opening screen of Task scheduler in the middle section called Task status.
And I also suggest you look in the right-hand side of TS and click on Enable all tasks history. Your a very likely yo need it when tracking down the culprit.
