Hello, sorry if my formatting of this message is incorrect... I'm new to this forum and just really need help with my brand new gaming computer. I'm really new to PCs so I don't know much.
Recently when playing games after 10 or so minutes my game would crash, most notably Apex Legends, League of Legends, and Rainbow Six Siege.
Every error I get I would often see it could be a driver error and I've tried everything; Updating drivers, (Cant roll back because PC is brand new) and reinstalling / resetting my entire PC.
Some errors I got from event viewer would be:
The program League of Legends.exe version 12.14.456.5556 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.
Process ID: 5e0
Start Time: 01d8a70d13526d5d
Termination Time: 16
Application Path: C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\Game\League of Legends.exe
Report Id: 21bae405-d3ab-4453-85b3-20e2591d98e8
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:
Hang type: Unknown

I would get the Apex and R6 logs but they were deleted when I reset my entire PC in hopes that maybe the cloud files that were automatically downloaded were corrupted.

My computer is brand new and I've tried even going into the System 32 log thing and checking different commands to find faulty files to repair via youtube. I'm at a dead end and I'm starting to really get frustrated, I'd appreciate all the help I could get.

Some error codes I would get are:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDELED

I really appreciate it, I also sent a support ticket to Ubisoft and CyberPC to see if they can find any solutions as well. I really hope we can fix this and I thank you for helping me in even the most tiniest of ways. This has been really upsetting.

What internet connection do you have? Is it stable and responsive enough. At least 2 of the 3 games mentioned can crash just because lag in the connection. Rainbow Six Siege on the other hand may have audio issues.
Another issue that could cause your crashes, is that you are running your RAM configuration in Single Channel mode (you only have one 8GB RAM stick), which will make RAM copy very slow compared to a Dual Channel configuration. Another issue is that you only have 8GB of RAM, which may not be enough for these games. 8GB is the minimum recommended to run Windows 11 alone. To solve this, add one more stick of RAM so you have 16GB in Dual Channel mode. Games will run faster and there is less (if any) swapping of data to the SSD.

What you could do before adding any hardware upgrades however, is to play Minecraft (trial) for a few hours, if that one is stable, then your issue is most likely what I just mentioned above. If you still keep crashing, then there may be some underlying driver or BIOS issues.

BIOS/UEFI firmware should be the latest, the motherboard chipset driver should be the latest from the motherboard manufacturer, same with all other drivers that the motherboard needs.

Sounds good, will do it all tomorrow since i do not have work! I have 2 sticks of 8GB 2400mhz ddr4 ram, do you recommend the 16gb 2400mhz over the 8gb 3200mhz i’m using right now? I was told that speed might be more important due to my drivers but if thats not the case i will gladly use 16gb 2400, I will follow up later to let you know if the problem persists via quote, thank you so much for your input i really appreciate your time

do you recommend the 16gb 2400mhz
I do not recommend this slower (2400MHz) RAM as the CPU specs says 2933/3200MHz RAM.

Try the Minecraft test first...or some other 3D game that is relatively new, updated regularly, is quite light on resources and does not use any anti cheat systems.

Hello again! Before upgrading the ram (Still using 3400mhz 8Gb) I just finished playing minecraft (Java edition trial) for 90 minutes. It had no issues, high fps, and no crashes.
On the other hand, Ubisoft support told me my system requirements do not meet the minimum (specifically stating my CPU) Which is weird because when I look at R6 minimum requirements, it says the CPU is minimum is a
Processor: Intel Core i3 560 @ 3.3 GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 945 @ 3.0 GHz *
On the contrast, the CPU i have is a
Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11400F @ 2.60GHz, 2592 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s)
Is mine not better? I'm confused.
I personally feel like you're right about the RAM, but can you disprove the Ubisoft support? Maybe they're wrong? I already spent 1k on this PC I don't want to have to buy a whole new CPU 😭

The only thing that I can think of is that the I5-11400f has a base frequency of 2.6GHz. The I3-560, 3.3 GHz. However, the I5-11400F has a boost clock of 4.4GHz. Have you specifically given the CPU model to Ubisoft?

I lack the skill to read crash dumps.

If it was me, I'd stress test the CPU and the GPU. The CPU using the CPU-Z utility. (Bench tab, Stress button.) For the GPU, maybe MSI Kombustor (which does not require an MSI graphics card). It'd be nice to monitor the CPU temperature while stressing it. I don't use this, but some recommend Core Temp. (I use iCue, proprietary to my Corsair cooler.) GPU-Z can be used to monitor the GPU temperature.

Good luck.

Will do! A few of my friends said it’s probably the RAM so thats the first thing i will buy at the store. Will update with stress test info etc, do you think its okay to mix ram brands as long as its the same mhz?
It may be okay.

I haven't mixed RAM in a while. I dimly recall manually setting the main timings to whichever set was the weakest. The main setting other than frequency is "CL" (latency).

Is mine not better?
Your CPU is fine. Intel 560 and AMD Phenom x4 are garbage compared to your new i5. One can't compare MHz for performance when there is such a huge generational difference.

UBISOFT should check their facts.
