Hopefully I'm in the right spot to get a reading on what's going and how to fix this. I upgraded from 23H2 home edition to Windows 11 Pro 64 bit. Everything activated and all fine. I then upgraded to 24H2 through the installation assistant and that went fine. Did all the windows updates just fine. However each time I now run SFC /SCANNOW, it finds errors. I would think after running it and restarting, everything would clear out and be okay. Is this a problem with 24H2 having continuous SFC errors. I've attached the cbs.log if that helps. Would appreciate getting an expert opinion / advice before I do anything else or start a fresh installation.
Thanks

Why are you running sfc /scannow? In 40 years of computing, I've only found a need to run that command twice.

How would you know your system was healthy unless you check frequently? i use that and DISM commands after every update.

sfc /scannow is not intended to be used to "check health". It is a repair utility. The way you know if your system is healthy is if it is performing normally.

Think we're getting off track here. The question is whether there is anything to be concerned about due to the continuous system file errors it is displaying after each reboot. Now if someone sees something that I should be concerned about, suggests a clean install or confirms that it is something inherent to 24H2, it would be nice to know.

I've seen this happen before, it usually isn't anything to be concerned with and tends to be resolved by Microsoft with a later update.

You wont always know your system is healthy unless you give it a scan. Periodic checks hurt nothing.

I have two systems and often use these tools to ensure both systems remain healthy. It was after I upgraded my system 24H2 through the installation assistant that I started receiving the continuous sfc errors. So didn't know if it was the method I used to upgrade, or an existing problem with 24H2 or a windows update or what ??. So appreciate the feedback, it appears it's probably nothing I need to be concerned about as I have not experienced any performance related issues. If anyone see's or knows something else, I'm all ears..

It's a known issue Stupsi with the latest Windows Update. You may also see 8.64gb of Windows Update Clean Up files that don't get deleted when doing as disk cleanup. These issues were introduced with KB5044284. The world is waiting for Microsoft to fix it.

Win11 seems to be running fine apart from those glitches
:look:

I did clean install before 2 days and i have the same issue. Just ignore it.
E.g if you uninstall one drive sfc will find an "error".
Sfc will repair the error with the reinstall of one drive.
Run DISM and sfc only if you have a problem.

antspants--thanks a bunch for the support, I generally have followed all the good advice from you, Brinks and others so I kind of figured I wasn't doing anything above and beyond.

Yeah you’re doing just fine.

This bug has been plaguing people since October 1st and we seriously expected it to be fixed Tuesday just gone.

Microsoft is now going to be pushing minor updates throughout the month or at least when they deem it to be warranted. So maybe sooner than later 🙏

You can run what you like when it is you would like to run it. Other people aren’t an authority on how you choose to run your PC 🙏

Of course he can - I wasn't suggesting otherwise. But IMO what the OP is doing is the equivalent of checking Event Viewer every day. It'll drive you nuts. My SUGGESTION remains that the OP stop running sfc /scannow as a test of system health (which, as I said, is not its purpose).

BTW - I also respect your contributions here!

In the time wasted running a bunch of tests, I can do a Clean re-Install of Windows. I know the ISO that I'm using is Clean and Safe, so a Clean install is just that.....CLEAN! There's nothing like it.

I'm on a version of 24H2 right now, that I installed just Yesterday, and now it's all set up and running, like an old friend.

If I don't do something to screw it up, it should continue to run just fine, as long as I need it.
Most of the problems reported on this and other forums, are self made.

Cheers Mates,
TM
