Is there any way to get rid of this annoying feature newly introduced with win11. I really do not like it. Thanks.

So sorry - yes, I meant COPILOT. I have it disabled in APPS. I will look at the tutorial. Also, it does not show up on my taskbar. Perhaps because I have it disabled in APPS. I turned it back on in APPS and it does show up on taskbar but right clk no deal. I will try tutorial. Thanks

TIP: It's a good idea to keep a folder on a storage drive with a record (texts, pic, patches), of your Windows 11 tweaks.
That way, if you have a problem in the future that one of your tweaks may have caused, it's much easier to troubleshoot if you have a record. :-)

If you want to remove CoPilot, use the registry patch in the official tutorial (Option #2).
Reg patches are usually the best way.
They are fast and easy, and at worst, require a reboot to apply. :-)


And I keep backups too. But I also keep tweak folders with the how-tos for my tweaks.

It's sort of like a... diary?

Dear Diary,
Today I ripped Copilot out of Windows, and this is how I did it. :D


After the January update, my File Explorer was broken... it wouldn't open, no matter what.
So the troubleshooting started.
Turns out it was caused by a tweak I had done months earlier... I kilt the File Explorer tabs with Vivetool.
So after four, restore from backups, and a bit of guessing and my Tweaks folder...
I figured it out. I undid the no File Explorer tabs tweak, and poof... all was well again. :-)

That search tweak will only affect the Taskbar search box.
Searching in your browser, will still give online results.

I just turned it off in settings :-) Settings - Personalisation - scroll down to taskbar - untick Co pilot preview

Question re: Revo uninstaller. When you indicate you want to remove either an app of a program, does it give you a warning - like not a good idea? -- Thanks....

I haven't used it for a few years but found it slightly complicated the odd time - I think I did get something wrong on one occasion!
