Solved CPU not compatible with Windows 11

Anyone running Win 11 on unsupported CPUs, as I do, should have Windows Update on Pause (for however many weeks you wish) and keep an eye on sites like this one when Updates are released. Should Microsoft release an Update that will cut off older CPUs that information will go across the Internet like a lightning bolt at which time the user must decide what they wish to do. For myself it will be as simple as not allowing the Update to install and then using the Go Back command in Settings.

Edit: I would add that should Microsoft be releasing an Update that will end use on older CPUs, since they released a Registry hack to allow this, they likely would inform the public that a new build being released will bring this use to an end.
Now this is the most sensible statement I've heard on this whole forum. Certainly makes sense.

Got to be something weird with your Z170 bios. just a random thought but maybe try an older Bios version if latest isn't playing?

TPM2 is working here with my Z170P / i7-6700K / 980TI when set up in the bios, other than the CPU being unsupported it's as close as it's ever going to get!

I looked at every option in the Bios, nothing there, my board has a TPM header, hence the part link I posted.
I`m not even attempting to install 11 on it. Not with the X299 right behind me. Just having fun.

I haven't read anyone getting kicked off 11 release yet anyway
But have read getting kicked off dev builds for old hardware.

If Microsoft is truly going to completely cutoff Windows 11 for unsupported CPUs, you will see it happen in a DEV build first. Right now the only check done for unsupported CPUs is by Windows Setup. Get past the Windows Setup check, and Windows 11, the OS itself, does not check for unsupported CPUs, nor TPM, nor MBR v. GPT. All of those checks are in Windows Setup, not the OS, so far. Windows Update may, at some time in the future, perform those checks and refuse to update Windows 11 on unsupported hardware, but that hasn't happened yet.

I would not take chances with what MS will or will not do and ride Win 10 until 2025 and save for a replacement system.
I will keep my System Two (Legacy/MBR 1st gen i5) testing Windows 11 to see if/when MS drop support for unsupported installs. At which point I have its W10 system disk to swap back in.

Not everyone has more than one computer or the skills to easily go back to 10 if something happens.
My post was general advice to those who use the workarounds on unsupported hardware.

I have the skills but I will not do it to my daily driver. I have a VM to play with Win 11.

Not everyone has more than one computer or the skills to easily go back to 10 if something happens.
My post was general advice to those who use the workarounds on unsupported hardware.

I have the skills but I will not do it to my daily driver. I have a VM to play with Win 11.
If a person is savvy enough to use a workaround to install Windows 11 on an unsupported system, I would think they would be savvy enough to know how to make a backup, or how to clean install Windows 10. It's not like Windows 11 is just going to let them upgrade their Windows 10 to Windows 11 if the hardware does not meet the requirements.

Look at what is happening with IE as an example of MS forced obsolescence. Either we can get around it or we cant. It is a good early testbed for what is coming...

Yes, I am running it on my Intel i7-2600k system and it is running fine. Just need to take the long route and grab the store installer, and install WSA manually.
