Starting on 6/27/2025 through today 7/11/25 I have tried 32 times to install “Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Insider Preview (10.0.26200.5670) (KB5060831)” Each time it has failed. Referring to the reason as being, error code 0x800f0991. I have spent so many hours on this and am so burnt out over it at this point. Can anyone advise me? Thank you so very much in advance.

I had a nearly identical issue with my ASUS Vivobook laptop trying to install the same CU. I cleared the Windows Update (WU) cache and stopped and restarted the Windows Update service. In my case the issue was also partially at MS end with their WU servers.

I recently went through the same thing, I tried installing cumulative updates over and over only to fail. My error code was 0x800f0922, so this solution may not work for you but it's worth a try. Believe me, I had tried everything. See the thread
