This has been going on for weeks and it seems likely that this update will never install on my desktop computer, although it does install on my laptop.

I have tried running Check Disk and System File Checker several times, but it makes no difference.

When I look at the Windows version it says 23H2 (OS build 22631.4169). Presumably if that Cumulative Update Preview never installs then I will not be able to install any later updates.

Can anyone suggest what I might try please. Thanks.

What was the result of your other thread where you had an error with an update?

Neither of the updates will install using the manual method. Presumably there is a problem with my software which is preventing these updates from installing. Thanks for the suggestion, worth trying.

Is there an error code or just a message that it fails?
I don’t really have time to look ATM but I am pretty sure you aren’t alone with this issue. From memory I believe others have mentioned it giving problems?

Maybe search the forum for KB5044380, there were probably comments made in the original KB news thread also, wherever that went.

There was an error code with both the failed updates. I have now managed to hide both of the updates which repeatedly fail to install, whatever method I usee, so that should solve my problem.

Checked my other Win11 computers, 2 Desktop and 3 Notebooks, earliest install was Oct. 26, no issues have come up with it. I have Dell, HP, and Lenovo.

It shouldn’t and probably wont make a difference but try installing the update manually with your internet ethernet and wifi disconnected.
