Dell Laptops not starting. Any ideas?

This has been happening to my systems for a while. I have updated drivers many times. That being said, I have noticed that it happens at a much lower rate if I just open the lid to start my pc. If I had it open and hit the power button to start, it happens much more.
Experimenting with the drivers didn't work. I've had problems with this laptop before with the GPU cable working loose causing a poor connection. The test is to use a HDMI cable and connect to a monitor. If the monitor shows a display and the PC doesn't then that could be the problem. Unfortunately I need to completely disassemble the Dell laptop to refix the GPU cable!

The issue I have been having is not hardware related. It's software. After a couple of tries it goes into repair mode for windows. That being said, (I am totally going to jinx it now), since using the open lid method, it's happened only once.

My issue seems to be the GPU cable working working looses again causing an intermittent black laptop screen. The clue is the laptop displays fine via the HDMI output to another monitor. I will now have to disassemble to reseat the cable, I see others have had similar problems with Dell laptops due to this poor design which causes the GPU cable to flex too much.

I am going to look at mine too when I re install my new battery....If it ever shows up. I do like Amazon's refund policy. If it's a week late they will offer a full refund. Fine by me. If they used a reliable carrier like Purolator or FedEx here in Canada they would profit way more than using dragonfly/intelicom. These people are brutal. One of the people in my town has pictures and videos of the dragonfly drivers driving with their van doors open and boxes falling out of them. No care is taken with your deliveries.

Knock on wood, I have had very few issues since I removed my battery and let the laptop sit for a few days. I make sure I use the open lid / close lid method of turning on instead of the power button. Seems to be working .

Everything is buttoned up again. Working as intended again. I didn't want to get a new system as I am comfortable and familiar with this pc. Now with the battery back in it's properly balanced again. ha ha. Using it without the battery was weird. no weight in the front of the system.

Most laptops seem to be designed to last until just after the warranty expires. The available options are cheap, fast, and durable. Pick two.
