Tuneup file:

Kaspersky and Malwarebytes uninstalled.
Microsoft Defender up and going.

New Restore point created.

Thanks for all your help. Much appreciated.

What would you recommend for antivirus?

Last shot from HWMonitor and HWiNFO64 for temps and errors (none right now! before they showed up relatively quickly).

Tuneup plus results were good.

The in place upgrade repair fixed the prior error code.

Post a new V2 share link after two to three days of use.

Antivirus definitions are always being revised.

False positives and negatives are always present.

The AV ratings vary month by month and year by year.

Antivirus software can impact boot times and performance.

Their drivers also at times cause BSOD.

I've always used Microsoft defender.

Many times I've added Malwarebytes for another check.

Malwarebytes was at one time running with defender.

The last time I'd used it it had turned off defender so it was uninstalled.

The choice of AV software is a personal one as the accuracy is a moving target.

And many users don't sense any change in boot or performance.

What would you recommend for antivirus?
Just use Windows Defender and Malwarebytes as an on-demand scanner, that's what I and many others do.

Sometimes these freezing issues can just be caused by too many devices "daisy-chaining" on the same interrupt line.

You can usually resolve that by explicitly enabling MSI for a particular device:

I'll provide further instructions after I've had a look at your logs.

The PC ran all night - 10.5 hours. I did leave it unplugged from the network though. I plugged it back in this morning before I left for the office, so I'll see how that went when I get home.

I'll get the rest of the info that x BlueRobot asked for once I get home later today.

Thanks again for all the help. I'll keep you updated over the next few days.

If there are no new problems then consider making free or pay backup images.

(Acronis, Aoemi, EaseUS, Macrium, Paragon, etc.)

Making backup images and saving them to another drive is an additional method for protection from malware and ransomware.

As of right now: 18 hours 20 minutes, no lock ups, no errors.
Thanks, if you haven't had any issues for the past 18 hours, then it might be worthwhile holding off, but if it does freeze or hang again, then I would recommend the following:

Code:
reg add "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_F1C8&SUBSYS_0A631028&REV_00\3&11583659&0&FB\Device Parameters\Interrupt Management\MessageSignaledInterruptProperties" /v MSISupported /t REG_DWORD /d 0x1 /f

I would recommend that you create a system restore point or image backup beforehand. It will enable MSI support for your audio bus controller which is commonly the cause of hangs. You'll need to reboot for the changes to take effect.

Now, might be a good time to get and start to use backup software. Now that your computer is working like it should.

I do backup regularly to a network drive, so I'm not in danger of losing anything important. I don't necessarily have an image backup though - so worst case I'd have to reinstall windows, drop my file structure back and install things like Chrome and Adobe. I'll check out the image backup stuff though. Thanks!

Well that topic is about three different backup softwares.

I use Macrium Reflect (paid). I bought the lifetime license.
The pics in the topic are all from Macrium.

But there's links for the download and user guides for all three programs.

NOTE: Macrium can DO everything. Macrium's User Guide is 485 pages.
I just use Macrium to manually make a full backup, before and after doing anything risky.
Testing new software, MS Updates, etc.

Macrium is really overkill for me. But these days, all backup software is seriously overkill.

Sometimes I'll restore from a backup, if I only "think" something is iffy.
I have so many tweaks, I never want to have to reinstall Windows. :-)

@zbook @Ghot

Last night I installed the latest driver for my video card from the manufacturer - it was the lastest driver from Dell.

I assumed that would be fine, but... I shouldn't assume, right?

I started HWiNFO64 to see if there were any more PCI bus errors again and sure enough, there was one there, so I left that running over night until I could get to it here this afternoon for a look. The PC wasn't locked up, but there is 60 PCI/PCIe Bus Errors.

I'm guessing if I remove the video card driver and go back to the old one, that would fix it, but shouldn't it be able to run the latest driver? Is that an indicator of the something wrong with the video card or maybe the motherboard?

First do this... (block driver updates)

Then do this...

DDU Instructions - Nvidia
1. Get this program, here: Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) | Wagnardsoft ...get the latest version, and save it to your desktop.
2. Get the DCH/Game Ready vid card driver here, use the Manual Search: Advanced Driver Search | NVIDIA ...save this to your desktop.
Unhook the internet completely.
3. Reboot into Safe Mode and run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) choose the "Highly Recommend Option", and just do what it tells you.
4. After it's done, reboot to normal mode, then just double click the Nvidia driver to install.
[See pics below]. If it want's to reboot, let it.
Rehook the internet.
