Hello,
While I have no issues with my Desktop I did notice in the Device Manager that I have 3 issues according to that. It seems there are no drivers and at the same time I can't find anything that is not working. I ran HWiNFO and it shows the same under my "Drives" both both of my internal drives are working fine and my external drive is as well. Should I just disable these in the device manager or is there another fix I could try? I attached several screen shots that may help those that know more then I do. From looking at HWiNFO it only shows the error on my drives but they seem to be working fine. I have 2 internal and 1 external.
Internal
Samsung 1 TB SSD
My stock HDD 2 TB
Seagate External Drive 1 TB
Any advice is appreciated !!
Thanks,
Steve

At least all is working well. Update any drivers if you haven't already. you could try running the trouble shooters and check they are configured correctly.

It looks like all your problem devices are on the motherboard. Have you tried to download the last drivers from MB manufacturer's website? At best you should find the drivers for Windows 11, otherwise you can try the drivers for 10, which usually are compatible.
You haven't mentioned about your MB (or laptop name), so it's hard to give you more exact advice.

@Slavic No I haven't downloaded the latest drivers for the mother board, but I will if I can find those. Here is the link to the specs on my HP desktop I am using and it has all that info. I don't remember seeing this when I was running W10. I will post back after I try to update the MB drivers.
Thanks !!!

I suggest getting the drivers from here:

Intel H110 chipset

Get both chipset .inf utility, and the Intel Management Engine (for 8.1 and 10). My guess is that the latter is the one that'll clear up your Device Manager issues.

(I'm not running an Intel desktop system at this time, but, in the past, I have always found the drivers directly from Intel to be appropriate for desktop PCs.)

I see, this PC is a quite old and, most important, it has the Skylake CPU like i7-6700. This CPU is not officially supported for Windows 11. Even if you managed to install Windows 11 on your PC using the methods avoiding the system compatibility check, you will not find the specific drivers for 11, only for 10. And other hardware incompatibilities may happen because of lack of drivers. So, I suggest to count your PC only as transitional before buying something more new (or consider to keep Windows 10 until its end of support).

Thank you both for your input. I will check the intel chipset and see if that helps. When I checked to see if it was OK for Win 11 is passed just fine, but I m sure you may be right and I am fine with going back to W10. That said, I don't even notice anything not working as it should so I am not sure if there is a downside to keeping W11. I just noticed in when I ran HWiNFO.
Thanks

Yes... two of those are definitely in the chipset driver, and probably the 3rd one as well.
I think they're all in the chipset driver.

I installed the Intel chipset .inf utility and 2 of the 3 were fixed and then installed management engine and now all seem to be fine and do not show up in Device Manager. So now that those errors are gone and I really never noticed any issues should I call it good to go, or roll back to W10? You are way more tech savvy on this then I so just looking for advice.
Thanks for all your help, I appreciate it !!!!

Although somewhat different, Windows 11 is fine. Just go with it. here are some commonly requested tweaks.

With these, you can make Win 11 just like Windows 10. :-)

If your PC works well now, you can continue using it as is, either make yourself more familiar with new UI or install the utilities which return some old good things like traditional taskbar, Start menu and context menu. But because CPU is outdated for this OS, you should bear in mind that Microsoft may change one moment something in OS, mostly for sake of security, making your PC incompatible. When and whether it will happen, we can only guess.

P.S. It's a bit strange that your PC, when it had Windows 10, has passed the compatibility check. Maybe your CPU is more modern or it was a bug in the check. You can check this again, attempting to switch to Insider build on the Windows Update page in Settings: if there is any incompatibility, you will be told about it.

His i5 8250U CPU is ON the compatible list... at least the one in his computer specs.

@Slavic , @bobkn , @Ghot
Steve

If you can tolerate the interface changes and feature losses in 11, you may as well stay with it. (I am on 11 on my supported desktops.)

11 breaks some software, but it's not common. Some of the breaks are due to device security, and would have also applied to Win 10. (Some people - like me- never turned on some of the security features of 10, like the TPM.)

For me I have no issues with Win 11 for the things I use. If I hadn't look at the device manager I wouldn't have known there was a issue, just when I saw it I wanted to find out what it was and if it could be resolved, which the Intel chipset seem to have done.
Thank you all for the help !!!!

It's a I7 from I can see. Either way it should be compatible from I found.

The i7 6700K is NOT on the compatibility list. That doesn't necessarily mean Windows 11 won't run.

Searching by Hardware ID can help you identify and locate missing drivers.
If you get really stuck, IObit Driver Booster does a fantastic job of locating missing drivers and even updating existing ones.

As with any driver updater, be selective what you update.
For your problem, I recommend only installing the missing drivers. At least for now. IObit Driver Booster will display the missing drivers for you.

If you do happen to use IObit Driver Booster, don't install their other products in the installation.
IObit have great products, but they like to tempt you with their other products in the installation. If you read the setup screens, it is easy to say "No".

Does Device Manager now show the correct Chipset series for your board ?
Or does it show a Intel Standard SATA AHCI Controller ?

If you are happy with W11 then just leave it be :)

Hello,
While I have no issues with my Desktop I did notice in the Device Manager that I have 3 issues according to that.
Thanks,
Steve
Hi there

@Stinger2000

Do you have any images of a W10 system -- especially if you upgraded from Windows 10.

If so this should work

in device manager against each device you have a problem with choose update driver
then select browse my computer and select include subfolders

if the W10 image is on say Vol W (you can mount a macrium image too if you had a backup from macrium)
point to directory w:\system32\DriverStore

Should work perfectly.

I had to install about 9 drivers that way after I installed a "Clean" version of W11.

Cheers
jimbo
