Believe me - i am not complaining. Esp being that I am no fan of 10.

But, correct me if I am wrong.... MS stated that 10 would be the last os it would ever release.

Any idea what changed?

Well.. from the best of my recollection the new looking GUI was talked about a while back with the rounded corners by MS. The general assumption was it would just be a huge update to Win 10 but I really think it's going to be an entirely new OS., Windows 11 or whatever the finally call it.

I'm going to wait for the 24th and see what they say. Right now I know we have Win 11 so.. I doubt it's going away

From what I was able to find it was a statement from one person and not a official statement from MS.

Maybe this?

"Right now we’re releasing Windows 10, and because Windows 10 is the last version of Windows, we’re all still working on Windows 10." That was the message from Microsoft employee Jerry Nixon,

I thought it was in fact an official statement from MS; maybe not.

True.. I'm making assumptions at this point. The name to me is irrelevant. We do know there's a different version out and it's from MS. I was able to get an update to .Net today so I guess that proves it as much as anything can.

But in the end we'll find out a lot more on the 24th.

IMHO not changing the name is a poor way to say to people Hey we have a new and improved OS that is a must have. Using build numbers and names like 21H1 is stupid. Like I said this is just my opinion.

New management and a virus :-).

The virus helped a lot of people see how important the computer was once again for remote access, learning, etc. It breathed some new life into computer sales, once again elevating their importance. Windows definitely benefits.
