Solved Do These Idle Temps Look Normal?

I have a Ryzen 5800X and a Corsair H100i AIO cooler and I am wondering a little about my temps. Here is a display of my temps. Please see the core temp in the picture below:

At idle it is 42. My room temp is about 19C. My AIO software says that the coolant temp is about 24C. I'm thinking that this cannot possibly be right. I just re-seated the cooler and applied new thermal paste when I swapped out my motherboard last month. Full load temps are almost 70C.

Did I make a boo boo with the thermal paste, or is my AIO cooler going bad?

My second system has a Ryzen 9 5950X and an H100i cooler.

The notoriously inaccurate iCue software reads higher than your number at idle, lower under full load.

70° C is OK for the CPU.

40° C and higher seem a little warm for the other monitor points, but not seriously so.

System 2 has two 140 mm fans (one front, blowing in, 1 rear, exhaust). The H100i is in the top of the case, blowing out.

I guess it's comparing apples to oranges but for reference here's my i9 10900 using Coretemp at no load. It uses the Dell premium cooler. Standard fans front and back.

1. Your temps are fine.
2. The coolant temp "should" be far lower than the CPU temp. That's how it cools the CPU.
3. The 5800X is a 105W CPU, it will run a bit hot.
4. Your room temp is good.

    Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?
On my Ryzen 5900x system with a dark rock pro 4 air cooler, I idle about 35C. Ambient temp in my office right now about 22C.. My computer has 2 x 140mm intakes on the front, and 1 x 140mm intake on the back. My cooler has 1 x 135mm fan and 1 x 120mm fan.

Under load i'm usually around 65C.

On my System 1 (Intel), with an AIO water cooler, the CPU temp is just slightly above the coolant temp at idle (per Corsair's iCue). The CPU temp goes into the low 70s at load (before the coolant has much time to heat up).

System 2, with a Ryzen 9 5950X, reports a higher CPU temp at idle.

I'm not sure whether any of that is real. Some have suggested that iCue isn't accurate. Certainly the number it reports for CPU activity under load maxes out at around 80% under Win 11 22621, while Task Manager reports 100%

Looks hot to me, have you checked for build up of dust? I have been known to take a pc into my garage and give it a blast of compressed air, it works wonders.

I've got a very similar rig, but on a B550 mobo (same CPU, same cooler). My temps are 1-2 degrees lower, but I have LOTs of ventilation in my case. Don't see a problem, per se, as a result...
