Drag and Drop in Explorer to Other Applications - Kaput?

I've noticed lately - don't know the exact date - that when I grab a file in Explorer and drag it to the toolbar to drop it into another app (to upload to a website for example), it doesn't work. The destination icon in the tool turns red and... nothing.

Is it just me?

What toolbar are you talking about? Can you take and edit a screenshot to demonstrate?

It would be nice to be specific as to what application you're dropping it on. This is obviously not a general failure as I drag-n-drop files all the time.

UAC changes can break drag & drop to the Taskbar. There's a very specific security model regarding the separation of elevated rights between your apps and Explorer/Taskbar. Allowing more things to happen without your admin approval, can inadvertently break drag & drop.
