Uninstall them (Start > Settings > Apps) then restart your PC
Launch Driver Store Explorer > Check the boxes of all versions of drivers which .inf starts with (if you find them) :
a-volute | avolute | dax | dts | extrtxusb | hdx | realtek | rtdusbad
Check the box "Force Deletion" then click on the "Delete Driver(s)" button

INSTALL

Launch "Install.cmd" by right-click Run as admin > "Next" > The installer will ask you to restart your PC > "Finish"
Go in "Apps" folder > Install your apps from the Microsoft Store shortcuts

UPDATE

Launch "Install.cmd" by right-click Run as admin > "Next" > The installer will ask you to restart your PC > "Finish"

Uninstall these hidden devices by right-click Uninstall device (if you find them) then restart your PC :

OS requirements : Windows 10 64 bit or more recent.
Hardware requirements (AMD) : ASUS ROG motherboards with AMD 5xx/6xx/8xx series chipsets with ALC40xx codec.
Hardware requirements (AMD - sTRX4) : ASUS ROG/PRIME motherboards with AMD TRX40 chipset.
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG motherboards with Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx series chipsets with ALC40xx codec.

Note : In order to know which drivers package to use, match the audio specifications of your motherboard with the apps or ask me.


TIPS :

If you want to manage the drivers (remove old/unused drivers for example) that you have in your Windows DriverStore
Use Driver Store Explorer (Right click on "Rapr.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you want better interrupts delivery latency
Enable MSI (Message Signaled-based Interrupts) mode on all your supported devices (see the column "supported modes") with
MSI Mode Utility (Right click on "MSI_Mode_Utility_v3.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you experience crackling, popping, audio stutter
Disable hibernation (Fast Startup included).

DTS sound unbound software is not licensed for whatever reason. It was licensed before and I fresh installed win 11 and thought it's licensed via asus motherboard (rog strix X670E-E gaming wifi). Anybody has the same issue?

Hi,

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC40xx codec, so :

You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread.

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

I have a Strix z790-E and the DTS sound unbound software is licensed. No issues on licensing for me after the install. mg

yeah fixed it but had to install the one from asus official website and update it "Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS"

Following your method, I successfully updated Realtek USB Audio Driver to version 6.3.9600.2347, which solved the problem that Armoury Crate has been failing to update automatically all the time!!!
But I have one more question:
What is the difference between ’Realtek USB Audio‘ and ‘Realtek Audio’? Although my guess is that I should choose to install Realtek USB Audio Driver, I would like to know what ‘USB’ means here?

  2. The last step of the cleanup process is to remove DTS Audio Effects Component and DTS APO4x Service Component from Software Components in Device Manager. I don't have either of those listed, but I do have several Realtek items listed there including: Realtek Asio Component, Realtek Audio Effects Component (USB), Realtek Audio Universal Service, and Realtek Hardware Support Application. Should these be removed? They aren't mentioned in this last cleanup step but thought I would check.
  3. How long should running install.cfg take? The process goes very fast until the last one (dtsapo4ultraAsusextensionpkg, I believe) which takes a few minutes. After that my computer automatically reboots. Is it typical that the last one takes a few minutes?

Hi,

This is the internal audio interface used. ASUS motherboards will use the USB internal audio interface for mainly 2 scenarios :

- Go beyond the limitations of the traditional audio interface (which supports up to 32-Bit/192kHz) and in order to be able to use ALC40xx codec to supports up to 32-Bit/384 kHz.
- By motherboard chipset limitation in the case of AMD TRX40-based motherboards which does not allow the use of the traditional audio interface.​

2) No it's not necessary.
3) Just be patient, DTS APO4x Extension Driver folder contains more than thousands files in more than hundreds subfolders.

Perfect - thank you!

I got it all completed and I'm still having the same problem that I had before. In summary, my headset has 3.5mm connectors for microphone and for sound (two separate connectors). I plug them both in but my microphone volume is EXTREMELY quiet. I've checked all the settings everywhere and everything looks right. I've tried using the audio connectors of the front of my PC as well as the ones on the back and same results. Any ideas?

Hello, I never understood how I can know which of the different downloadable version in the original post I should download. Can anyone explain me the process? With the other drivers i don't have any problem, only with the audio ones (realtek usb and not us AUDIO)
I have an Asus Rog z690 Formula if you want to explain with a useful example xD

Hi,

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC40xx codec, so :

You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread.

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.
