This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off Phone Connection to link your Android mobile device to make Copilot even smarter for your account in Windows 11.

Phone connection, formerly known as Phone Plugin, has been restored with enhanced performance and refreshed visual designs. With this setting Copilot on PC can connect to your mobile device, making Copilot more personalized by integrating the rich data stored on your Android, including messages and contacts. It also boosts your productivity by allowing you to perform common phone actions on your PC, such as sending messages, setting alarms and timers, locating places using the map on your device, and more, without needing to reach for your device.
What can you do with Phone Connection in Copilot?
- Ask for contacts or messages naturally: For example, “Any new messages today?” or “What’s Frank’s contact info?” if you have Frank saved in your contacts.
- Set timers for specific durations: For example, “Set a 3-minute timer for boiling eggs.”
- Set alarms through natural language commands: For instance, “Set a 7am alarm for tomorrow.”
- Send messages to your contacts: For example, “Send a message to Bruce to ask for gift ideas,” if Bruce is saved in your contacts.
- Locate a place: Find places in your phone’s map by asking naturally, such as “Locate the nearest shopping mall on my phone.”
- Start navigation in the map app (supported by select Samsung devices): You can simply ask Copilot, “Navigate to the coffee shop using my phone.”
- Cancel a timer or an alarm (supported by select Samsung devices): You can also ask Copilot to help cancel timers or alarms with simple queries, such as “Stop the timer for boiling eggs,” or “Cancel the 7am alarm.”
Phone connection requires adding your Android phone to the Phone Link app on your Windows 11 PC.
You will also need to be signed in to Copilot, Phone Link app on PC, and Link to Windows app on Android phone with the same Microsoft account.

Here's How:
1 Open the copilot.microsoft.com site or Copilot app on Windows 11.
2 Sign in to Copilot with your Microsoft account if not already.
3 While in full view, click/tap on the Account button on the sidebar, and click/tap on Settings. (see screenshot below)
4 Click/tap on Account on the left side in Settings. (see screenshot below step 5)
5 Turn on (default) or off Phone connection for your linked Android mobile device (ex: "Brink S23+") for what you want. (see screenshot below)
