Hi I have an excel spread sheet and the first column in numbers increasing on each row 1 to 21 when I get to the number 20 it is replaced with a # sign how can I stop this?

2 things I can think of to try.

Widen the column a little

Copy the formula from the cell before it, to the cell with the hash tag

Click and drag the vertical line to the right or double click.
The font you are using means that 20 is a bit wider than the others.

You can alternatively use a Monospaced font where each character is the same width. e.g. Courier.

Solved, you have to type '20 into the cell, then right click and ignore to remove the green triangle in the top right of the cell.

Save time by right clicking on the column and formatting the cells as Text so you don't have to worry about it again
