Fast startup and system restore do not work

This problem started on Windows 8.1. Suddenly fast startup stopped working and system restore as well. The restore point is created but always fails to restore.
The hibernation works well.

I installed Windows 11 on the same partition, not as an update but as a new install. But the problem is still there. On Windows 11 installed on the same PC on a different partition, fast startup works well.

So, how can I fix this? The problem is seemingly not in the registry but in the volume properties. I checked the partition with various software, but it finds no errors.

Post the diskmgmt.msc (Disk Management console) info from the problem drive so we can see the layout info. Here's mine, for example:

I'm wondering if it may not be a GPT vs. MBR issue (my C: drive is GPT, as are -- I think -- all of my drives).

Have you tried restoring within safe mode? Sometimes this works best.

Here, the C: is problematic.

The hard drive is MBR.

The problem seemingly appeared when I (for fun) checked the drive with an utility from Windows NT 3.x.

I think, the problem can be in the "system volume information" folder. Maybe I should try to delete/rename it?
