If you current PC has no support for Windows 11 due to lack of UEFI or lack of TPM 2.0 support, you need a new PC. But, here's some tips for you:

Tip No. 1: Don't buy an new PC yet.. Windows 10 has 3 more years of support!
If you not currently buying a PC, Windows 10 is ending of support on 2025, so it's 3 years!

Tip No. 2: If you currently buying a PC, think about the system requirements of Windows 11.
This is a good absolute idea so you can't waste your money buying unsupported hardware and stuff, you will regret in the end.

Tip No. 3: Also, Don't buy discrete TPM chip stuff, there's an shortage due to scalpers.
If you realize that TPM 2.0 is required, don't buy dTPM stuff, it is included in your CPU, or Motherboard.

Tip No. 4: If your buying an dTPM 2.0 chip, you need to understand what pinout your motherboard has.
The TPM 2.0 module has different pinouts on different motherboards so if you buyed an different TPM module that has different pinout than your motherboard, you're out of luck. More information about tips to buying an TPM chip here.

If you don't want to get rid your current PC but want to use 11 on the future, there's some threads here at Windows 11 Forum(s) about that.

There is also the current microchip backlog, which is expected to clear in about 2 years time, in 2023! Already electronics (and dependent technologies) are becoming more expensive, and are likely to continue to inflate prices. Once fabrication is back to going full steam ahead, I would expect competition to increase, and prices to fall, as demand falls off, with a glut of products on the market. That will be the time to buy.

I seriously believe that most Windows computer/device users doesn't even know there is going to be a new Windows released. Also the majority of people that are going to buy a new computer are going to buy what the store has available. Most of the people that know about Windows 11 are the ones who visit websites such as this one. When Windows 11 is released to the general public the computers that are running Windows 10 are not going to stop working. Even when the end of Windows 10 support happens the devices running Windows 10 are not going to stop working. All this crying the blues about Windows 11 not supporting older devices reminds me of Chicken Little. The sky is fallen, the sky is fallen.

There are new systems available on sites like eBay that are reasonably priced. Many bought these systems for the graphics cards and are happy to sell the rest of the system fairly cheap to recoup some of their money.

I'd have to disagree with you on this. It's made headlines across all sorts of news outlets, not to mention Manufacturer's websites, online retailers (specifically with regard to TPM modules), and more. I don't see how most people would not know about it, especially with the prevalence of mobile devices that have things like News Feeds and such.

You can see the news sites mentioning Windows 11 from this DDG serach: windows 11 at DuckDuckGo

And the same in this Google Search: WIndows 11 - Google Search

The Verge and BBC are on the first page, and even CNN is on the 3rd page of results in that search.

I've seen links on Forbes, Business Insider, and other financial-focused sites, as well.

So I'm don't think saying that most users don't know about it is valid.

True, the circulation is increasing by the month, week and day! 'Still there are a proportion of users who are computer users, and not computer mechanics - those users probably do not have a listening ear for such developments, so even if the news is "out there" they remain unreceptive. A lot of people I know outside work are in that category - so I see where the OP is coming from. One day soon, this post will be wrong, but I do not think that day has arrived just yet, by any means.

I agree 100%. Even my senior citizen students, who aren't entirely computer illiterate have heard of Windows 11. When we resume class on July 21, we'll use the PC Health app to see whether their laptops will be able to run Windows 11.

Everywhere I go online I see Windows 11 speculation and talk.

Probably so, Bree, but I had downloaded and saved it. I have it on a flash drive and checked out my laptop with it. Seems to work OK, but I'll be sure to let the folks know they may get a false reading. Thanks for reminding me.

I had downloaded and saved it. I have it on a flash drive and checked out my laptop with it. Seems to work OK,
I hope that's the second release, version 2.3.210625001-s2 - the one that gave a few more details in the results.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

Most people don't care about the latest news about the computer world like we do. As long as their device boots up and works they are happy.

You said the magic word when you said students. Your students are people who want to learn about computers. The majority of users are not computer students and all they care about is that their device works.

It mis-diagnosed my desktop computer. Said I have 32 GB RAM, but I only have 24 GB. Said I have an AMD Ryzen 7 with 8 cores! Actually I have an AMD Ryzen 5 2600; It said I have a RX 5700, but I have a GTX 1050 ti.

So, scalpers are the reason for TPM modules being unavailable.
If that is true, then I hope they get stuck with them all.

If that is true, then I hope they get stuck with them all.
The sad part is that most people who have bought new PCs within the last few years don't need a TPM. (Their systems include a firmware TPM.) I hate to think of people paying scalper's prices for nothing.
