There are certain programs that open off to one corner of the screen every time (e.g. Device Manager).
Is there any way to force the program to open centered on the screen?

Google shows some solutions (background programs with hot keys), but none of these work in Windows 11.
Here are two I tried. The first one crashes on load. The second one loads okay, but does not work.

Thanks.

It somewhat worked in Win10 and may in Win11 but I would size a program's window and locate on screen as desired then when clicking X to close while holding down the Ctrl key in 'training' Windows how to reopen. Usually took a few times to get it.

Yeah, I know this used to work for some programs in previous versions of Windows, but it apparently has no effect in Windows 11.

Might want to try this...

It will save the positions of any/all windows, for the next time you open them.

A well written Windows Program that follows Windows standards should save its size, position, and configuration in its program data area when closing. When it reopens, the program first looks for those parameters and then opens exactly how you left it.

It's interesting that your example of "Device Manager" does not follow good Windows programming standards. An example of a program that does would be "Task Manager". Task Manager always opens the same way you left it. Device Manager does not and does not follow good Windows programming standards. Boo, Hiss.

I tried both of the apps you referred to and they work properly and center windows.
If you want to center windows launched with admin rights (like Device Manager) then you
have to start these apps as admin as well, otherwise they will not work.

You can always launch them as admin by specifying that in their shortcut.

Thanks.
Nice tool for snap in center (But Manual)
GitHub - veringsek/snap-assist-for-centering: A supplement to Windows Snap Assist, which helps centering a window if the cursor is at the center of the screen when the window is dropped.
