Please perform the following steps:

1) Turn off Windows Driver Verifer (WDV)

2) Uninstall and reinstall

mtkbtfilterx64 MTK BT Filter Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\mtkbtfilterx.sys

If the computer is able to use only Ethernet then uninstall all Mediatek drivers:

mtkbtfilterx64 MTK BT Filter Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\mtkbtfilterx.sys
mtkwlex Mediatek PCI LE Extensible Wireless LAN Card Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\mtkwl6ex.sys

3) If HD Tune testing was performed then post a share link

4) Open administrative command prompt and copy and paste: chkdsk /b /v

C:\WINDOWS\system32>chkdsk /b /v
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)

Type: y

Reboot as needed.

5) For any new BSOD post a new V2 share link into the newest post

6) Report unexpected shutdowns and restarts without BSOD

7) After the next unexpected shutdown with or without BSOD plan to place the computer into continuous safe mode (shift + restart)

8) Post a link for the computers BIOS

Hi zbook,

Thanks for this!

1) I've turned off WDV - immediately I received a BSOD while my laptop was restarting
2) Uninstalled the BT driver and Windows automatically reinstalled it after restarting
3) HD TuneUp logs

1716605119621.png1716605138500.png

4) Completed chkdsk with the suggested parameters.
5) Will stress test for new BSOD by launching some games

I don't recall updating the BIOS myself manually. It's likely through MyAsus or Armoury Crate.

Please open a support ticket with Asus for BIOS support..

The misbehaving driver was the same driver (mtkbtfilterx.sys) in the two collected minidump files.

Turn off Wifi > use only Ethernet > for new BSOD post a new V2 share link

For continued BSOD plan to run the computer continuously in safe mode.

Whatever you want to do in safe mode is fine.

For any unexpected shutdown and restart with or without BSOD post a new V2 share link.

Run safe mode continuously for 3 days and post new V2 share links.

Thanks zbook.

The BSODs typically only appear when I open games - freezes and then BSOD while the game is open. In safe mode, I'll only be able to run basic activities like spreadsheets etc and that typically doesn't cause BSODs.

There's also a new symptom - while restarting, BIOS did not detect my SSD. I was just stuck in BIOS with no boot option until I shut off my laptop for 5-10 mins and then I was able to boot into Windows. Sounds like a hardware/heat problem?

The laptop is also my daily computer so running in safe mode for 3 days consecutively may be a little difficult. Any way we can further diagnose without going into safe mode?

Hi zbook,

I've not encountered any BSOD after testing with a friend's wifi/bt card for the past 3 days. Decided to replace my old MT7921 wifi card after reading extensively about numerous issues. Appreciate the help in narrowing down the card's driver issues. Will be marking this solved.
