Future 'rug-pull' for unsupported Win 11 installs?

MSE for W7 still gets definition updates as a side-effect of Windows 7 still being in support. The paid-for Extended Security Updates (ESU) will continue until January 2023, the definitions and the MSRT are the only updates the are free to all. After January 2023 ESU support ends, so all updates including for MSE will stop.

Win10 is in a similar position with Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 reaching end of support on Jan 12, 2027. I would expect Defender updates to continue until then for all version of W10.

The proof that there is no forthcoming Windows 12 yet is that management had created a www.twelveforums.com website (I registered for it) very recently but pulled it off the Interweb a few days ago. Can't get any more certain than that!

Hmmm, "twelveforums" is still working fine for me

A new forum has been setup by 10/12 forum management called twelveforums.com.

You can only currently access it as a VIP member but you have to request access.

The forum still exists. Did you request to join? If you did and new members are still being excepted, you should have received an email to set it up.
Edit: You may have to check your junk mail.

I'm not a VIP and got no invitation. I just went to the site and registered. I was just there a few minutes ago so it definitely has not been pulled.

It briefly went 'dark', only members with existing accounts cold access it. But that was short-lived and normal full access soon returned.

Since they start working on Windows 12 now, it will be out probably in 1-2 years time. No rush. Let Windows 11 run on our PCs for at least year and see. I will need to install at least one more major build before I decide Windows 11 run perfectly on my machine. So far no issues, but I wait and see. By the time Windows 12 is out, many of us might have also upgraded our unsupported computers.

And then our current hardware we bought for Windows 11 is outdated again. "But you really need a machine with our new Pluton CPU, didn't you know that?!"

We have no idea of when or even if Windows 12 will be released. I haven't seen any end date for Windows 11, so we should be good for several years or more.

No sweat! As Windows 11 need UEFI, Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 but can be installed on non-compliant machines, similarly if Windows 12 ask for Pluton feature hopefully there will be some workaround to install Windows 12 on non-compliant machines.
