Gaming Service updates break Forza Horizon 5

I've had this error since yesterday when playing Forza Horizon 5.
Gaming Services got an update yesterday and that's when the problem started.
I was able to fix it by signing out of the Xbox app, completely uninstalling Gaming Services, then relaunch the Xbox app. This re-installed Gaming Services and when I signed in again the game was fine.

Another GS update this morning, same problem. The same fix worked again.
All other games work fine.

No I think it's a Forza issue but Windows Gaming Services is needed to play it. One is not happy with the other.

Problem is now every time I check for Windows app updates, Gaming Services get re-installed anyway so I have to do the repair thing every single time. I've raised a ticket with Forza support.

i am on Windows 11 23h2 latest build
and i cant even start the game during the syncing process this pops up
and i have tried reset xbox app & Ms Store ect noting works ?


First message during install (Fixed it by Reseting store and Xbox app)

Yes still happening today. The fix is in my original post, but it's a constant fix job not a one off

thx for clarifying this is still happening!.. "hope" they fix it any time soon. Bin weeks whit Notifications / Achievements issues ect!

what fix did you apply too be able to run it?

Sign out of Xbox app on PC
Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps
Scroll down to Gaming Services
Click on the dots and select 'uninstall'
Open Xbox app again, this will re-install Gaming Services
Open Forza game, select your account to sign in
It will now work until the next update to Gaming Services
